America's Next Top Model: Naima
So after so many weeks of elimination, Naima finally won America's Next Top Model Cycle 4. 
Its all well and good really. She is pretty enough, takes cool photos and has an edgy enough personality. Plus she has a great attitude to modelling. I was particularly impressed by her attitude against that terrible photographer who terrified and broke everyone else down. But personally I find her winning just so incredibly boring and predictable. She's exactly like all the other ANTM's before her and she's the audience's favourite for ten running weeks. And her final performance on the catwalk, I thought she tried too hard. Her poses were so vigorous, it looked like she was being shot.
Secretly despite all the odds, I kept on hoping that Kahlen, the runner up, would win. Now THAT would have been a good twist and much more exciting. I think Kahlen is an incredibly sweet and innocent girl and I really like her. I can really feel for her. Naimi on the other hand just appeared SO typical that it just felt incredibly fake. This girl overcame her shyness and was darn geniune! PLUS she had consistent performance throughout and takes incredibly beautiful pictures too! She's definitley more loveable!
Keenyah was the third finalist. And I'm glad that she was eliminated when they did. This girl is just too much. I know that competitiveness is needed in this competition, but she goes to the point that it becomes bitchy and turns the audience against her. Does she not know what subtlety is?Overall it was another interesting season. It does get a bit repetitive, but the thing I love most about the show is that each time, these ordinary girls gets transformed and take amazing pictures. And of course, I LOVE the fashion!
Too bad, the season just started here in Sweden, so now I know the winner... But what the heck, as you said in your post. The fashion is wonderful, and I can't get enought of beautyful Tyra. I might be in love with her :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm not too crazy about ANTM lately. There's no way they'll find the next Kate or Naomi on that show.
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad that Kahlen's consistently good work didn't help her win. I like Naima's look better, but Kahlen is the stronger model.
Keenyah is just too fat.
Kahlen looks exactly like Carmen Kass and will probably make more money modeling than all of them together. Naima is more of a commercial model. Keenyah was a conceited be-yotch thought she could get away with her bloated weight, no surprise she didn't win.

ReplyDeleteI'm really glad that Naima won, however i think that whether it was Naima or Kalen.. both would be wonderful becuase both of them have such good qualities. I dont think that Naima is fake at all, i feel like she hides herself because she's just shy and quiet. Keenya is a really good model but shes too chubby and her off stage attitude is so freaken annoying. If only she was nicer and wasnt so fake...
ReplyDeleteI agree that Keenya was obnoxiously annoying and I was glad that she was eliminated. Kahlen,however, never impressed me and I was shocked that she made it as far as she did. As for Naima, I guess that she was the best choice considering what they had to choose from, but if she had to go up against any of the season 1-3 contestants, she would have been eliminated!! Overall a very disappointing season.

ReplyDeleteI was happy that Naima won, at first, but during the final episode Naima just become a little cocky, I don't know how to describe it but I really wanted Kahlen to win... I didn't like Kenya so I was glad she went, but all the girls this year were good looking and they worked hard

ReplyDeleteDidn't anyone else think Brittany was the best? I couldn't understand why they eliminated her, just cut her with no real reason except that she was quiet during judging. And that was one time! She rocked every other photoshoot and the judges loved her the whole time. I just can't understand how anyone who looked at her pictures could not think she had more potential than any other girl that has ever been on that show. She could have been a model.

Still, Brittany should have had it from day 1.
im over in England and we're only on about episode 8, but im kind of addicted to the show so hav the website earmarked as one of my favs,and knew from episode 3 that naima had won. originally i wanted kahlen to win cos thats wat my gut instinct said in ep1, so im glad that she at least came 2nd. did that last yr with amanda and she was 3rd so hoefully nxt yr i can predict the winner! anyways has any1 else noticed how all the winners (bar adrianne) hav had short hair? do u think theres a conspiracy to look at here.....btw ur blogs v cool! check out another fantabulous one at www.ecpadai.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteNaima may have won, Keenyah may have gained weight and became a little fake at the end but who ended up on a TV sitcom? Not just Naima. Keenyah was seen twice on different shows. what about Kahlen?

Naima won but Keenyah got equal exposure after the show.
Kahlen seems to have some issues..especially when around guys etc. I guess it's because she never had a boy friend..not sure. She's sweet but a bit odd and I can't believe she got top 3 either. Naima is cool and she deserves to win. Overall I'm happy happy with the final result.
ReplyDeleteI really think that Naima deserve to win. I like her on the first glance. She might be a quite but she get around with people well, not like Michelle. I like Kahlen too. She's very innocent yet very pretty. Brittany is good too. Though she loud but she kind-heart and respect others. I don't like Keenyah. I really like this episode. It is not boring. I think it's the coolest cycle from others. Less fighting but very good. I watch this whole episode over and over again.

ReplyDeleteKahlen was my favorite just because she was so caring and and she has so many sides. I like Naima to but she was their favorite all along. I just watched a marathon and you could tell that was who was going to win, so I was very dissappointed. It just seems like they always pick their favorites and pretty much stick with it. The first cycle was the only won that really surprised me. This is to predictable. I will not watch another cycle.

For all those who said KEnya was Fat, I'd like to see you all try to make it to even round ONE of ANTM. Stop "hate'n". Women should try to be encouraging and happy for one another.

ReplyDeleteThe second I saw Naima, I just knew this one was special. The girls on this show were all beautiful but Naima seemed like a good person with the right determination, creativity and personality. I don't think she was fake at all. In fact she was one of the most genuine girls there. She was the lest bitchy as well. After all it is a competition so being too friendly with the competitors is unlikely and being too competitive would be not so nice on the camera. Naima kept it perfectly balanced and throught the entire show kept minding her own business which is working hard, staying focused and minding her own business of winning the show. And she did! I also don't understand what is wrong being a little cocky when you know what you are worth. People who criticise others being cocky forget that after all the hard work and sacrifice it is a little fun to be cocky because one really works for it. And if someone has it, and is not least cocky about it .....that seems quite fake to me. Now the question is if you can be cocky in a balanced way....Naima does that well too becasue she knows where the line is and doesn't cross it! I think she is rocking! When you criticize her just think what others were doing and after contrasting her to the others I think she was the best compeitor, person, and talent in the entire show. After all there are a lot of beautiful people in the world but it really pays off to be a good person. Tha's why Naima won this show!

Naima can even look hottest among a bunch of hot girls in a model hunt show and she can do that with a mohak. Those who think she is not pretty enough to win the show just imagine how hot she could look with long hair and a sensual feminine aura. I think she can pull anything off with her attitude and looks. She is really beautiful and her beauty is far beyond skin deep.

Yeah, Kahlen is white, pretty but she's incredibly charming. She's very very fun,funny,nice,likable and outgoing and humble and extremely cute. Anyone who doesn't like her is crazy. Even Naima loves her. Her smile is so amazing...... It makes me smile.
Naima is ok but she's nothing, compare to Kahlen.
