Dior Summer Princess Cosmetic
Dior really has the eye in the market for girls. I'm talking about the girly girls, and the rich party-type girls. Following last winter's success with the cosmetic compact keychain, this season Dior launches the "Dior Summer Princess" collection. The main features are the cosmetic rings -one ring with eye shadow, and another ring with lip colors.This ring is filled with two shades of eye shadow. So if it's a long night out and we all know that girly clutches are riduculously impractical, your can still have access to touch up your eye makeup with this chic-looking ring.This is the ring filled with two shades of lip colors. OK, so maybe the rings are cute, and maybe the mirrors on both rings are perfect for the vain people who can't resist checking out themselves out every oppurtunity that they've got. But like, eww, doesn't makeup like lip glosses melt? Wouldn't the heat from your fingers melt the makeup inside the ring? I guess that's why it comes with a little chain for you to hook it onto your bag. But then again, what would the point of it being a ring?
Can totally see Paris Hilton wearing that.
ReplyDeleteLike ew. . . not only would the make-up melt on your fingers, but they also resemble the little girl make up toys I used to have. Has Dior ran out of ideas that they've resorted to little kid ideas? Ugh!
ReplyDeleteI looove this ring. Just bought it (maybe it's because I'm a Dior whore). It's really, really huge, and definitely makes a statement, but the kind that I like. I've had no problems with the color melting (that said, it's a bit too big to be a ring -- I don't know who it would fit, so I did some adjusting. Perhaps it was made to be more of a charm).

When I see something like this, it makes me think there are some people sitting around at Fashion Headquarters, saying, "I think I could make a huge, klutzy ring thing and put make-up in it and people would actually buy it!"

Ugh. Dior schimior. And have you seen their suede, rhinestone, diamante, leather and feather boa bag? only one thing to say to that! "WHAT THE!"
Well, what usually happens is I'll rant about how awful it is and then after a while I'll be wearing one to the supermarket, so we all ought to go out and buy one right now! Seriously, if you could replace the makeup with a cell phone would that not be cool? Maybe round the edges though.

ReplyDeleteA great invention for the summer id certainly wear on myself but the trouble is i dont no which to buy nthe eye or the lip. there both fab colours but i only need the one.
I think its absolutely fantasic and i fink that the idea of lipgloss on your finger is great!!!

ReplyDeleteThis ring has amazing colours in it but the price is way too much id be afraid 2 use it! i got it 4 ma birthday and changed it for an eyeshadow in their latest collection!! its amazin 2 and only 20 quid!! :)

ReplyDeleteDior really does have sort of a slight cult following. I'm amazed by how many bought it even though its so expensive! Is the lip gloss and eyeshadow actually good though?
ReplyDeleteThe price isn't expensive for the quality you get. If you like it it's totally worth it to flaunt to those who can't afford it. And there is no way it could fit on a finger! Well not on asian fingers, I can stick 2 fingers through the ring! Who the heck actually has a finger that fits it?!

ReplyDeleteAbout the quality af the make-up; there isn't enough pigment in it, so I would say that the quality of it isn't all that great.
That said, the rings are so adorable, I will have to buy one anyway.

ReplyDeleteAfter hearing about the new Dior Gourmette Lip Gloss bracelet set to be released this spring, I was anxious to get more info. about the previously released ring, as I was interested in purchasing it despite the fact that I have doubts about mixing makeup and jewelry. But after seeing the picture on this site, I have decided that it is too large, overbearing, and not my style. The Gourmette I.D. bracelet is understated and sophisticated-this, in my opinion, is clunky and screams, "Fashion victim!" In the meantime, I'm thinking about buying the Anna Sui rouge ring, which is available for $12 at Sephora.com. It's a cute ring, and for that price I'm considering testing the makeup/jewelry mix and, depending on how that goes, maybe buying the gourmette bracelet.

ReplyDeletethe ring is absolutly gorgous how you can say it isnt, i dont know! its classy and looks stunin on a large bag dangling from a chain... i am buying 1 for my best mate for her birthday and she will love it! and you actually aren't supposed to use the make-up inside the ring its a fashion statement! oh yeah, and the ring really looks great on a long chain with a plain dress... stunning!...x
