Single or Double Eye Lids?

I can't say I personally have this problem, but from friends who do have single eye lids, they've always had a problem with applying the current eye make-up trends or just eye make-up in general because they don't have the crease. I guess I can see why and that is probably one of the reasons why double eye lid surgerys have become so common nowadays. For those of you who want double eye lids but think that a surgery is a bit too scary (and it IS!), here is a little contraption the japanese came up with to give you temporary double eye lids.
The Koji Technical Eye Tape is basically a clever thin tape in the shape of the contours of your eyes. You stick it on the top of your lids, look up, let it stick and *viola* double eye lids! Thats the theory anyway. The application, like that of fake eye lashes, is not as easy as it sounds. The effect is also probably not as perfect as one would hope, because from the side you can totally see the tape. And even from front on, it looks slightly unnatural. But still, for all intents, you have double eye lids for the day. Isn't this such a clever idea? I never even knew such a thing existed until this weekend when my friend came in with suddenly double eye lids!

the tape's actually been around since the mid nineties, if not earlier. I remember a lot of the girls in middle school and high school wore the tape. The glue's been around almost as long, too.

I hear if you put concealer and eye shadow on top of it, it's not as noticeable.

There's a website floating around somewhere showing how its applied. And in the video they literally, in japanese say, "stab stab stab" to create a crease in the eyelid. It makes my eyes hurt.

I am quite against the "double-eyelid" tape...it makes people look unrecognizable, and I just don't see why people would do it.

Hm yes I suspected its been around for a while, I've just never noticed it until I saw my friend using it the other day. Since I have double eye lids myself I guess I just haven't been paying attention to these kind of products before. But I'll def tell my friend about the glue now.

And double eye lids are when you have a crease between your eye and your lids.

In case it's still unclear, the single eyelid thing is common among many Asians. The double eyelid gives the appearance of a more typical eyelid (often described as a Western style eyelid although I think that description is inaccurate since Arabs, Africans, and plenty of Asians do not have single eyelids.)The surgery to get double eyelids is very popular in Korea. A good friend of mine had her eyes done there. Personally, I think single eyelids are just as good as double ones.

actually currently there's this new item that has just been released last year. it's not eyelid glue, or eyelid tape. it's like a small piece of cartilage.

at first it comes in this tiny pink tube, which u break into half and inside it's a smaller piece of cartilage, that's pretty invisible and it's stretchy. but once stretched, it won't go back. so u placed the unstretched cartilage near the eyelid, then slowly stretch it using the pink tube, so u are kinda like making a line into ur eyelid. then when u open ur eye, the tiny cartilage is invisible cos it's so thin

the trick to this is that over time, ur eyelid will develop naturally into double eyelids, because it forces ur eyelids to re-deposit the fats into the top eyelid, so that you naturally get a crease

i've tried it and it works, but it's kinda tiring to do it day after day and you have to keep doing it so that the fat deposits in the correct areas.. i think the time needed is abt a year...

oh yes, when u put on the cartilage u immediately get the double eyelid. but it also has the long term benefits

I don't have a crease in my eyelids and i'm proud of it. It's part of who I am and it's different! When i was little, I remembered how I was really sad the way my eyes were and every night I would try to open my eyes as big as i could to make them bigger than stuff but now, I love them! :]

Instead of those tapes, glues and stuff, why can't somebody come up with a good eye make up technique for those with no creases? that would be great.

I can understand how women who do not have double eye lids want them, but to go as far as to have surgery for it is ridiculous. I know it's mostly popular among Asians, but it just goes to show that Asians model their sense of beauty after Western notions of beauty. I'm Asian and am lucky enough to have double eyelids (and big eyes), but I also have girlfriends who do not have double eyelids and they are beautiful just the way they are. In fact, the Asian girls I know who have had surgery look uglier, because you can ALWAYS tell who got the surgery. It looks puffy and disgusting.

Natural beauty, ladies!

To anonymous poster right above,

You say that those without double eyelids are beautiful "just the way they are" yet you call yourself "lucky enough to have double eyelids (and big eyes)." If you truly thought single eyelids are beautiful, why would you be so "lucky" to have double eyelids?

^ i agree.

those who totally are against double-eyelid surgery should think again. there are people out there who have very obvious single eyelid on one eye and then triple eyelid on the other... surgery is maybe the only way they can truly feel confident about themselves.

Today [1/23] is my birthday ahaha, and I got these for my birthday, actually, as a joke.

I've never had a crease [or double eyelid] because, well genetics. Well, before I used glue which is a little harder to put on, but yes. I've always thought that this glue and tape mechanisms aren't just a way to boost self-confidence but to make ourselves look better just as make up "enhances" every woman's beauty [if applied correctly]. This is just another makeup fad...

I don't really think that it's all about the Western look, but I think it's just a way to look better! It's not that I'm uncomfortable with my body, it's just that it makes me look better [and be able to put on eye makeup and have it actually show up]....

The point of makeup is to enhance beauty whether or not it is natural-- if it's not, then just don't put on makeup. I do want to have the surgery though...make life a lot easier but I heard if you keep wearing it, it eventually becomes permanent?

I have used the tapes for years now...bought in bulk that would last me another few years. I would put them on in the morning for about an hour, then peel them off, and my new eyelid crease stays intact until I go to bed that night. Sometimes I am even able to nap and the crease still stays intact. So we don't necessarily have to keep the tape on where people can see them or drag our lid down to hide them. On top of that, I have some tubes of eyelid glue too. I don't really like using them because it is very irritating on both the eyes and lids. They are only good for those quick fixes. I try not to use them though for fear that putting all this stress on the eyelids might make the skin even weaker and droopier in the long run! But silly me keep doing it because I feel so much prettier and people constantly tell me how beautiful my eyes are now :-( Trust me, it's not a westernization thing, it's more a confidence thing. There are many Asians with naturally beautiful creases and eyes. If anything, I want to emulate the "other" Asian look lol Nothing too different from a white person getting an eyelift surgery so she can look younger or have her eyes look like someone elses.'

To Karen: Some people say that if you wear it day in and day out, the crease will become permanent. I don't know how true that is. I personally do not wear it to sleep. Tooo irritating! And in the mornings when I used to, sometimes my lids would look really puffy...might be that the skin there wasn't able to "breathe" properly that night. With that said, there were times where my crease stayed for a week or 2 without the help of tapes. However, it somehow always manages to "snap" back especially if I have been crying or wiping my eyes a lot.

I am finally considering surgery as well maybe this year or next year...

Though now that I am hearing about this new cartilage thing that "anonymous" posted, it has gotten me very interested. Please post the name of the product or where I am able to get it from. I am willing to try any product that may be easier or more comfortable before the dreaded surgery. Thanks in advance!

I know that the eyelid tape and glue often causes irritation, but since they're sticking skins together to form a crease, won't it also stretch the upper eyelids, therefore causing them to look droopy and makes your eye look even smaller when you're not using the tape or the glue?

It's true what barneys girl said, that girls with single lids want double lids so they can use eye makeup too. It's not about race, it's about what all girls want, to try and to use makeup. It makes me sick to hear people say that the reason asians want double lids is to look white. If that were true, then they wouldn't leave the part of the eyelid that makes it look asian, the part in the inner corner that slants towards the outer corner, yet they do leave it. To say it's because they want to look white is racist. By the way, it's not only whites who have them, it's ALL races besides asians who have them. Some asians have them anyway, and naturally. That (reason for wanting double lids) is said about asians, but yet many whites have surgery to slant their eyes and to have fuller lips; both of which are asian features. It's not my intent to start an argument, I just had to say it.

Hi,
Wow, I had no idea that there was a solution to this problem. I'm a white female who grew up in a very quiet suburban town in eastern Canada. So you can imagine it was very far from multicultural, until moving to Vancouver just over a year ago I had maybe seen six Asian people since I was born. And I've struggled my whole life because I too have no crease in my eyelids, to the point that my extremely culturally sheltered peers actually thought I was Asian. (Which I took as a huge compliment because I find Asian women to be just so totally incredibly pretty).

If anyone can help with more product information and personal experiences that would be so great. I'm so happy to find that I'm not the only person looking for a solution to something that most people wouldn't percieve as a problem in the first place.

Also I have no idea where to get this stuff.

Please excuse my general naiveness, I'm trying to learn.

Thanks so much!

Hey!

This is the second time Im writing this out. The First time, it didn’t post. =P how annoying!!!

But anyway, haha.. to answer ur question…

I have been using the Koji glue on and off for a few years now. And ive only started using the Mezarki for only a few days, after reading this blog about the collagen thing.

With me, long story short..
I have single eyelids, but.. kinda began having a very very faint crease. Only after I started using the Koji glue, it made my eye crease much much more deeper.

Then I stopped using it, b/c I heard coco lee admit she did the double eyelid surgery b/c she use to use the glue and it made the skin around her eyelid droopy! So that freaked me out, and I stopped using it.

But overall, when I put mascara on, like, it did kind of make my crease more noticeable. So the Koji did make a difference..
But since using Mezarki, I reckon it’s made a much more deeper crease and my creases are much more noticeable (well to me that is). Ahaha. But since ive only used it for a few days.. gotta see how it turns out. But so far so good. =)

For me the Mezarki stays on very well. I reckon you could wear it for the whole day and it’d b fine. I haven’t done that personally, but I’ve slept wif it on and it still looks the same in the morning.

SO, from my experience, if u have a faint or no crease, its prob better for u to start using the glue first. The glue, is much easier to use, and to help you get a crease and deepen it. Then after u get a deeper crease, try using Mezarki. With me, sometimes I still find it a lil hard to correctly put it on my crease. Coz if u don’t put it correctly, u could get a new crease line developing and u def don’t want that to happen!!

Well I hope that helped! I wrote heaps!!!. Hahaah should b studying for my exams. >.< *arrgghh *

MAYBE, when my exams are over, I might start a blog about my experience with this. And MAYBE post some pics for u guys to see.. to see if theres some differences.

Cheers. Good luck

ohh my eyes are pretty much the same
i sort of had a crease when i was little
but then it slowly faded or something
and now its like hidden
but then i started using the little eyelid charm tape things
and now i have a more noticeable crease
but only on one eye
because my crease on that eye has always been kind of bigger i guess
but i was wondering
is it easy to create parallel creases
with the mezaik?
oh and good luck on your exams :]
i have to go study for some too
ewwww

11/06/2007 3:41 AM
Anonymous emily said...

i would prob say my crease is parallel.
For me, its only been a lil difficult applying it to the inner corner of my eye, within the crease line.

Last time, i kinda misplaced the tape lower than the actual crease on the inner eye n so it kinda made my eye look a bit funny wif a few creasing going on. =P

But overall tho, i'd say its fine to use. im kinda getting the hang of it.

But i wonder tho, if i continue to use it, will the crease deepen permanently coz i hav heard stories of how girls been using it and now they hav a permanent crease... hmmm

hahah one exam down, 2 more to go!
good luck wif u 2~!

ohh then that sounds way better
than then the tape i use
because
sometimes
its hard for me to get my crease to stay near the inner parts of my eyes
hehe eek
and sometimes i misplace the tape
and then i get a bunch of creases too
until i take it off and fix it

i heard that some people
ended up getting eye surgery because eventually the tape
or glue stretched their skin
too much
but then i also heard stories
about girls who used it long enough
and put it on correctly
so that they got a permanent crease
without droopiness or whatever
ohhh and i also heard this really weird story
that a girl umm used a toothpick to like outline her crease
and i'm not sure what else
but she said that in like two weeks she started getting a permanent crease
but then whenever she doesn't get enough sleep
it goes away

hopefully the mezaik thing
creates permanent creasing
i think i might buy some later this month
to try it out
:]

yay

I think we should only operate on facial/body defects, such as a deformed mouth/nose. I don't consider single eye lids to be a defect. I consider it to be a facial feature that our ancestors have formed/developed through evolution/time to help them to adapt to their enironment.
Infact we should be proud of our facial features, becaues they represent our race/ethnicity.

We should not just judge people's beauty from their big round eyes or pointy nose, I think beauty comes from the whole character of the person, such as their smile, personality, attitude towards life, etc....

11/11/2007 8:41 PM
Anonymous brittney said...

yeah the droopiness thing made me go
eek :/ at the whole eyelid glue and tape stuff
but i would think
that if you actually applied it right
and in the same place each time
it would just form a crease
because this one girl told me that
she wore the tape for a year and
it didn't stretch out her skin
and now she doesn't have to use the tape anymore

and to what the person above me said...
the whole double eyelid thing
has nothing to do with not wanting
to represent our ethnicity or viewing certain facial features as being defected
most girls put on eyelid tape
because it makes it a whole lot easier to apply make up
plus rejecting our ethnicity has nothing to do with it
i know tons of asians who naturally have double eyelids
and as a matter of fact when i was younger mine were more visible too
but then for some reason as i got older
or maybe it has something to do with
the amount of sleep i get
because i usually don't get enough
but anyways now that i'm older
one of my creases is way noticeably bigger than the other
which is why i was interested in the whole eyelid tape/glue thing in the first place
and as far as the judging people's beauty blah blah stuff
i do not judge people by their appearances
i've been judged a lot and i know that it is very hurtful
and if you were referring to the double eyelid surgery that people get when you said "we should only operate on facial/body defects"
i don't think anyone has the right to judge people who choose to
and if it makes the person happy
they should be free to do so without being judged
and to the thing you said about
judging people's beauty from their appearance and how beauty comes from the whole character,
before judging someone over
choosing cosmetic surgery
its not like they just decided one day "ewww i don't like this part of me i need to change it"
think about what an emotional decision it is
it iss a part of their character
so for you to judge them based on that
would be the exact opposite of what you said about how not to judge people
also if it honestly makes a person happy then good for them
its really no one else's business but their own anyways

Hey!
Brittney, *nod* *nod* couldnt hav said it better~! =) =)

I guess everyone has their own opinions abt this issue, which is fair enough.

But, honestly, i duno y ppl keep bringing up that fact, that we're trying to lose our asian ethnicity..

I guess MAYBE 10,20 years ago, Asian ppl might hav wanted to look more Caucasians. BUT i really dont think that is the case now.

No matter how much, or wat i do with my eyes.i really dont fink im 'losing' my ethnicity... Thats just silly, i mean, if u had a Caucasian who wanted to also get Blepharoplasty, no1 thinks anything of it. But when an Asian wants to get it, ppl say OMG.. u trying to change urself. Honestly. grow up. I think, in our current world, there are LOADS more important things to think and worry abt than this small issue.

Nonetheless, I am VVV proud of my heritage and.. for ur information, bugs bunny (who i guess is too ... to put down their real name), whenever i smile. i still have major chinky eyes going on~!! =). and i didnt do a dip. in chinese studies for no reason.

And althou, i agree on that fact that beauty comes from within. UNFOR.. in our world that we live in and even if u dont wanna admit it.. seriously everything is based on our appearane....

EVERYone, and EVEN U, judge others on what they look like. From, meeting ur potential boyfriend, to ur boss hiring u.. its also partly due to ones personal appearance and looks...

anyone who says, they dont, is BS.. coz every1 is human, its in our nature. EVEN, a scientific research was conducted on babies, and found that they prefer to look at pretty , good looking faces.. (haha im glad my biomed degree is going to good use. =P )

i think, .. as long as u are happy with urself. thats all that matters....

hi emily
[:

andd yeah
i knoww
just like with everything else
people have their own opinions
but it is pretty childish
the way some people
label the whole eyelid thing
as rejecting ethnicity

just like with everything else
and in all other situations
people tend to label
anything that dares to be different,
things they don't fully understand as weird
and usually find other close minded things to say about whatever it is
they don't get
its pretty sad

and also
although everyone is entitled to
their own opinions

if the reason they posted their comment was because of the last thing you mentioned
i think its really annoying and lame how people do that
theres so many haters out there
who honestly do just go around
looking for forums and discussions
where they can put other people down
and make the opinions of others seem wrong
because for some people
putting others down
or proving that only they're right
makes them feel good about themselves
sort of like a self-esteem boost

but anyways
is the mezaik thing still working for you emily?

Hey Brittney!
hope ur exams went well! =)

yeh, so far using mezaik is going ok.. altho, coz of the difficulty applying them sometimes, ive noticed in the process ive actually created some extra unwanted lines. >.<

hahah, apart from that, its going alrite.. the more i use it, i do feel that its deepen the crease and it really shows more now when i hav mascara on, which makes me =)

i duno if u've been experienced it as well... but sometimes, if im havin a pic taken for example, like.. if u look at my eyes, you can see the crease, but either, the crease isnt deep enough making me look lik im half asleep.. Or, it doesnt crease in the correct place, hence, im ended up wif a weird double/triple sort of crease going on... (kinda hard to explain). im guessing its due to the fat deposits, etc. under then skin, causing this... grrr.. during those times, i kinda regret using these products. =P Feel like ive stuffed them up.

But i figured, since ive come this far, i mite as well continue to see how it turns out.. and overall, i am v happy with the results.

my supply is running out v soon! *argghh*

hows the tapes that u r using going 4 u? do u feel the crease is deepening?

=)

Hi,

I've got a single eyelid on one eye and a double on the other eye. Which is a bit weird. I wouldn't' have bothered much with eye enhancement if I had matching eyes even if they were single eyelids.
I wear glasses instead of contacts to draw attention away from this unevenness. A week ago a friend introduced me to the glue type.

I tried it out but I've not been able to get the crease deep enough to match my other eye.

From reading the blogs, I thought I'd try the sticker type. Hopefully I'll get a permanent crease.

Surgery to fix the single eyelid is a possibility but its my last resort.

hiii emily :]

mine went pretty well
but now i have tons of finals
thats why i haven't been on here
for a while
how did your exams go?
[:

anddd
eep
to both of those things
because sometimes my eyelids
get the multiple crease thing also
and sometimes it gets so annoying
i just dont wear the glue as much
but i lovelove lovee
false eyelashes
they're really fun to wear
and they make the difference
in my eyelids not noticeable
i still wish
i could get my crease
to look the same
and actually stay that way permanently though
like the person who posted after you said
i've been thinking about having
eyelid surgery
but only as a last resort kind of thing

hey brittney!

Glad to hear u did ok! i did fine too, passed all my subjs.

Finals huh? icic. im guessing ur from the Us yeh? lol. im from Aus. So once we finish our exams, thats it. no more.

haha yeh. falses are v cool to use. Im getting the hang of wearing them now. but i feel that its a bit bothersome when taking them out tho... get the glue residue on the eyelid and then the eyelid b/c sticky.. So i havent really used them much, only for special occasions.

yeh. my sis has the exact same prob as u and the person who just posted. =) but wif her, its v hard b/c the eye that has the crease is a vvvv small crease, so it'd b hard to replicate it on the other eye. She's also been thinkin abt eyelid surgery, but she says she'd rather get it done in korea. Since they are v good at it.. but im a bit worried, since we cant speak the language much or anything.. =P

i guess we just hav to preserve and continue using these products n *fingers crossed*, get a permanent crease.

Good luck to anonymous person who just posted! ive personally never used the stickers.. got some but i duno.. never really bothered to try them.
duno if uve read my other posts here, but mezaik has really deepened my crease a LOT compared to using just th eye glues.. =)

btw, brittney, or any1 else whos reading this. hav u seen those clippers that appr giv u double eyelids? saw a website selling them.. im finking of buyin them for the sake of it.. lol.

http://soompi.angeland.net/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=35

it says "Simply 5 minutes clipping and you don't need eyetalk or eyelid tape anymore!"... hmmm. >.<

:]

and yeah
California [:
ewww finals
your wayyy lucky

but yay winter break
our you guys on yours?

i've been wearing false eyelashes
since like last year
i'm a huge fan of mascara
so i used to wear tons
to get my lashes to curls up
and i used to get them to look
pretty long
so people would always ask me
if i wore fake lashes
so i was like hmmm
i should try that
might as well
its way faster and reusable :]
oh but yeahh
the glue left over
after taking them off
used to annoy me so much
but i've gotten used to it
since i've been using them for so long

hah yeahh
i was thinking that too
people say its better getting it done there because the doctors are usually more experienced
but i'd be totally lost
because i can't speak the language
at alll

ohh but yeah
i read about that
usually when people have
one eyelid with a crease
they have to operate on both
so they'll match

i've been researching about it
just in case
i'm not lucky with the products
and give up on that
so i won't be completely confused
if i decide to actually get the surgery
and i found a few websites
that look really good
like there really experienced
and they have really good
pictures of their patients
and how their eyelid creases
turned out
theres even someone
who had one eyelid crease bigger than the other to start with
and in the end they got both of them to match

ohhh and
i never heard of the eyelid clips
that would be wayy cool if they actually worked
did you get them?
:]

I didn't have any creases as a kid... my whole family would always talk about it... because I was the only one. Once in a while, after sleeping, my eyes would kind of fold and crease and last until i blink.

I have short lashes, but curling like maybe the fifteen that I have still makes a huge difference. I heat my Shu Uemura eyelash curler with a blowdryer, then I curl my lashes. I use waterproof mascara to make them stay. Currently faithful to Shiseido's lasting lift mascara. Makes the lashes look kind of thin, but they do stay curled.

BUT, my point is, after several years of curling my eyelashes, I have made a crease. My eyelashes are so short that, they press up against my eyelid, and make a little crease. The bad thing is, you have to be really diligent about taking off ALL the waterproof mascara, because it basically eats eyelashes. The wax which makes it stay curled, stays on so well, that it clumps and can make eyelashes fall out in clumps. And curling your eyelashes vigorously on a daily basis also makes the lashes fall out.

Overall, I think it's just about being creative, and finding the right look for you!

I know it's crazy but I've been using

the "Elmers" Glue to put on my lids to create the crease when I go to school cause well it works well for me and then when I get back home I wash it off and I use this korean eye glue product which doesn't seem to work well cause it's not visible like what I thought it'd be but then I just decide to keep using it when I'm at home cause it would be a waste of money if I just throw it away. Then sometimes I switch on using the false eyelash glue and it works great, btw I heard someone got their permanent double eyelids from that.

I've been using the glue for about 5 months now and what I heard is that you'll get permanent double eyelids for half a year and so far I got the crease now and the crease is mostly strong on my left eye than my right eye :( so I'm afraid that my eyes will end up to get 1 double eyelid :( and I've been placing the glue on where the crease have already been created ever since I've been using the glue.

Tape also doesn't work for me cause it's too obvious or maybe I just don't know how to put it on :|

hi! I've read the comments left very attentively. and i feel like telling you something)
i don't have a double eye lid...and frankly i'd never worried about that till my friend did the surgery though she never told me about her intention. from that moment on i opened this problem for myself... I talked to my parents and we decided to go to Korea and DID THAT there:) at that time i studied at the university and could not give the study up till vacation which were to begin in a half a year. Waiting for the surgery i used the glue.
And when the time came up i changed my mind and didn't do that... I don't know why...
Maybe someday i'll do this... maybe not...)) right now i feel comfortable with what i am and how i look like.
I just want to say that you are beautiful the way you are. And there always will be more beautiful or higher or better dancing girls)))
But if this problem eats you day and night, so DO the surgery and make you feel happy!
Good luck!

yooo Brittney and other new ppl. =)

Long time NOOO post. >.<
So many things going on. Ive graduated from my degree and plannin 2 go to China to study for a few months.. and travel after that.. but ... things seem to always happen... and i might not b able to go. =( Ohh well

but anyway, yeh. i was kinda the same with irenka,.. i 'really' never cared or realised how small my eyes were either! hahah but i think.. when u use these eye glue things.. u get the a point where u just gotta continue n cant stop (for me that is).. i dont mean u get addicted to them.. its just that. u've used it enough 2 where it has altered ur eye shape.. n u dont hav a monoeyelid anymore.. but not a fully double eyelid.. coz the crease isnt deep enough...

Thats the only thing that bugs me these days.. i got 1/2 n 1/2. And thus sometimes in pic.. my eyes look soo weird. >.<

for u girls who do use eyelid glue and wear it during the day... doesnt it feel weird, like it feels awkard? And wont ppl whos taller than u b able to see that glue when you close ur eyes?
.. i would only use the glue when i go to sleep at night or like during the day when im not going out.

PS. Brittney. i ended up getting those clips.. "mainly", b/c i was buying a few other stuff online and figured.. y not. lol. i finally got into online shopping.. ive learnt it can b/c quite addictive. =P But anyway, they're so crap. lol. lik.. i guess it does help to giv u a line, kinda.. but i seriously cbb with it...

oahh and btw, i read somewhere.. appr.. from using these eyelid glue.. u can possibly get double eyelids.. but only if u got thin eyelids (not much fat in them) to begin with...

cheers em

I know I'm a little late in this.

I'm a Chinese-Kazakh and I was born in China. Everyone in my mom's family has extremely big eyes and (of course) double-eyelids (they look more Middle-Eastern), while my dad's side of the family all has those "inner" doubles. It's not really single, but they are on the inside and it doesn't make any difference.

I somehow got my dad's side of eyes. But I do have a faint mark on my upper eyelid. When I was younger everyone said how I would have double eyelid when I grow up. That never happened and now I'm 20.

Two summers ago I went back to China and bought myself a pack of those tape thing. I have to say it does make my eyes look a lot bigger. So I got several more packs since they are so hard to find in the US. But since I have been really busy in the last two years, I didn't really use them and gave most of them away.

Then last week I saw those tape thing at a dollar store, but they have glitters on it and they are colored in silver and pink. It says "stick on eye shadow" on it, I thought they could work. I got a pack of them and I've been wearing them for almost two weeks now. When I take them off, I can see a crease that's still there when I wake up the next morning. So I think they really works on me, and hopefully it will be permanent.

But I do know people who used it and it doesn't work. I think if you have multi-layer eyelids (but the layers are on the inside) and thiiner eyelids, they will work fine and quite invisible. But if you have thick eyelids or just one layer of eyelid, it won't work too well.

I have one double and one single eyelid, I bought the Mezaiki fibre stuff it's really thin strip of tape that is colourless, it works really well couldn't recommend it more no one will notice you have it on and it lasts until you peel it off! I bought mine from ebay uk berryberrio store about £10. I also bought the eyetalk glue and wouldn't recommend it it's difficult to use and i think mor likely to damage the skin around the eyes as it need prodding to get the crease in place! I'm made up now i don't have to worry about the uneven crease with the mezaiki fibre! Good luck with getting a double crease everyone! I hope this helps.

I hate my eyes.
One of em is double and the other is single ._.
They look like they' re both single, but when i put eyeliner on, on one eye, i only need to draw one thin line and on the other i need to draw this HUGE line.
>_>.
and when I close my eyes... its not pretty.
I want to try the tape or glue on the single one, but like i said, they both look single on the outside.
UGH.
I soo should consider surgery to make em even D<

I don't really see the beauty of a double eyelid. And I'm Asian too, if you are wondering...

I see this girl in my school who glues her eyelids like crazy, adding fake eyelashes and lots of othr make-up to cover it up.

The result is makeup overload which is one word is

ugly.

but then again, I have natural double eyelids, so I don't really understand. Guess the grass always looks greener on the other side.

I've been using glue for awhile now. Before I used the sticker ones, which were really great for the first few months. Then after around a year ir made my eyes looked droopy, so I turned into glue. So far... I've been using this for several months now, and I'm really hoping it does not make my eye look droopy. Because people think my eyes are naturally big as it is now, I can't imagine it suddenly turning droopy and I'll have to wait for a few years to get surgery... I guess this is all about self esteem boost, to make yourself feel better.
