In case you've been in the dark this season, neon bright colors are back. My first reaction to this trend? Eww. . . Having been raised in the 90's, I was taught that neon colors were a fashion faux pas and I've always wondered what my mom was thinking when she bought that electric blue top now sitting in the back of her wardrobe.
Turns out, she just had incredible fashion foresight. Neon colors appeared everywhere on the runway this season in sync with the futuristic look also making a come back. It most prominently dominated Christopher Kane's collection. Electric blue, bright yellow...

...lime green, bright red, you name it!
Slightly less futuristic in design, Jil Sander has an equally vibrant collection in eletric blue, green..
summer without colors is like winter without black!

right?
Wow ! Who would've ever thought? LOL. :]
ReplyDeleteP.S. Do you have any suggested summer readings? Thanks <33
OMG! These are bright! I know of some really sexy banana colored flats that would go fabulous with many of these outfits. If only I could steal them from my friend!
ReplyDeleteyeah...neon doesn't work for my skin tone. but, in the beginning of spring i started craving the color yellow and apple green. my favorite accessories this spring have been a big, bright yellow bangle and apple green, super pointy-toe pumps.
ReplyDeleteThe Christopher Kane collection is absolutely darling!
ReplyDeleteLast summer I was into bright colors, but this season I'm into dark ones... I love black and grey (but these go very well with white or red)
ReplyDeleteI love the red Prada ribbon/turban in the picture
Purple is a great color too

I didn't think of this as a trend but I love this selection!
ReplyDeleteCould you give me suggestions on my blog?
Cobalt blue is THE hottest colour ever - fluoro green and yellow NEVER - check out the fluoro sunglasses on Style.com!!!
ReplyDeleteThe styling of the entire DSquared2 show was just............yeuch.
ReplyDeleteI love that neon is in right now! It's the perfect compliment to a tan. I found an awesome dress in bright orange coral at bluefly
ReplyDeletePersonally, I love the colours. The blues, greens and even some of the pinks look great with pale skin and dark hair.
ReplyDeletelove the color, and i'm still not over that prada turban. is there something seriously wrong with me? are YOU over it?
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about thinking neons are a faux-pas...but I think the trend from a few years ago of mixing lots of different colors together and generally bright colours sort of made the way for this.
ReplyDeleteI also had a question for you...do you think skinny jeans are going to become a faux-pas soon, or are they going to be a sort of classic wardrobe staple?
can you write on the latest trend for wallet please?
ReplyDeleteThe bright hues and neon colors are growing on me this season. I love hot pink and cobalt blue. Since I'm a bit timid when it comes to attention-grabbing colors, I'll start with small splashes of brights, eg., on accessories or nail polish. I think neon also looks great when paired with lots of white. I saw a great neon window display at Zara in London...see my blog for photos :)
