My Dream Shoes ATM: Nude-Coloured Shoes

Ever since Hilary Duff started doing promotion for her CD, there have been more and more photos (paparazzi and at events) of Hilary and I really started to notice her clothes. (Yes, I know she's got a stylist who picks out her outfits with her.) The one item that I've really loved and have been inspired to look out for are nude-coloured pumps.

I admit I've never thought of nude-coloured shoes before seeing Hilary in them. I've only recently read that nude was apparently one of the IT colours of the 80's, thanks to Armani. Normally, when I think of versatile shoes, I think of typical black pumps. If you think about it, celebrities have all been wearing black or metallic-coloured shoes recently. So as an alternative to those typical colours, I think nude looks pretty fab. Nude doesn't add much colour to your outfit, and it goes with a lot of different coloured outfits. Look at Hilary's outfits -the nude-coloured shoes go with her orange dress, all-black outfit, and the white and grey outfit. Very versatile and sophisticated. Plus they seem to sort of extend one's legs don't they?

This pair of beige-coloured Christian Louboutin pumps are SO gorgeous. I love the colour and the shape, (although I'm not big on the wooden soles.) Don't they look absolutely perfect with the black dress? The only problem with beige-coloured shoes is that they're extremely hard to find cheap/ affordable ones that don't look cheap. They are definitely on my look-out-for list now!

  1. Marc Jacobs makes lovely nude pumps and I'm pretty sure Aldo or Steve Madden has managed to make their own knock off of the trend

Since they're muted, they really lay a focus on the outfit rather than shoes, which i really love.

  3. Nine West had a nice pair of nude patent pumps at one point but they might be sold out by now.

  6. I have a pair of nude miu miu peep toes that I wear almost every day.. they go with literally everything I own and the nude color does seem to make my legs extend. I had always thought black pumps were every woman's staple item but nude pumps are much more versatile.

  10. I just bought a pair of nude peep toe pumps at DSW for $10!! I was trying to explain to my Mom what I was looking for and I finally said "I just want the perfect pair of 'rich bitch' nude heels." They always look so classy and flattering (they make even my pasty legs look long).

  13. well, I love nude pumps myself too, so I've been looking for then for a long time, but I found them in Antwerp (haha, Belgium) in the H&M! And they are absolutely fabulous, the heel is 8,5 cm, and the colour is perfect!

  14. i love the shoes, i just loathe the word 'nude.'

  15. I like the nude pump look, but I'm african american and beige won't cut it for me. Looks cute though, I agree.

  18. wouldnt the nude pumps only work with people with that "nude" skin color?

my skin is tan, so the color wouldnt really blend in, which kind of defeats the purpose, no?

or do they sell a variety of nude colored shoes? (as in different shades)

  19. I have a pair of patent nude shoes as well. I love it :P Its just 34.90USD from H&M. Just got them last week.

  20. Nude shoes aren't really a "lust" item-- more of a keeper. But it's odd for a product thats so flattering, it's not offered in a wider variety. Or maybe its just cause I live in Vancouver. Check out our new blog!

  21. The comments about african american or tan skin makes me think... they should come out with nude shoes in a whole line of colors... kinda like foundation or concealer... 10 shades to match any skin tone. Ha ha!

    ReplyDelete
  22. actually i saw them on african-american models, and tanned models, and they even look better. maybe they dont do the leg extending much, but they still go with every color and style u wear. so darker skin colors, got get yourselves a gorgeous pair to go w/ your gorgeous skin!

  23. I saw some today at Guess?

You may find the brand kinda tacky, but the shoes still look like Hilary's one.

  25. Nude shoes go with just about everything and they also give a splash of color to the classic LBD outfit.

  26. i LOVE them CL's. But I know what you mean, I have never bought any as I think they can come across as cheap, unless you buy classic, nice, expensive ones.

  27. Although the pointy, beige pumps are totally chic... I am having a really tough time finding the perfect ones like many of you, but I wear a size 10 and I stand 5'11" high, so I don't want to wear a 4" heel. But, during my search for these perfect heels I came across a pair of Corso Como peep toes that were beige and had a cute twist accent. Although not my ideal pointy pumps, they make a great more 'summer-y' alternative. I found those shoes at barefoottess.com.

  29. If you're looking for a really cheap pair, try H&M. I just bought a nude pair there about two weeks ago, so they should still be in-store. I think the heel is about 3 inches, and they are nude patent "leather". They haven't scuffed yet, and the heel has held up to the city pavement punishment so far.

    (Plus, they're really really cute)

  31. I believe that is why figure skaters go for nude-colored skates - to make their legs look longer. And now it translates to pumps, too. :)
