I thought this was just one of those obvious rules that everyone knows about and adheres to, but apparently not. When I was flicking through the Prada men's catalog for SS07- purely for research purposes of course ;)- I was aghast to see men wearing such short shorts! Call me traditional, but I do not think guys (no matter how good looking they are) should be wearing such short shorts on the streets in public unless they're going to the beach.
Especially not printed short shorts with a printed top. It just seems so inappropriate! I thought that perhaps this may be a phenomena reserved for the runway like some trends are. But my friend assures me that it is not and that one of his friends actually own a pair by Marc Jacobs. So just to reiterate, men should not wear short shorts on the streets no matter what Prada says.Ps. Who else is jealous that these male models seems to have better and more hairless legs than most women?

ReplyDeleteI have to admit I like guys' legs and I like short shorts on men. Of course your butt or anything else shouldn't be hanging out and the younger you are the shorter they can be but those things all apply to women also. The ones in the top photo are too short, except for the beach where they would be perfect. But I like the ones in the second photo! Frankly, I'm sick of seeing guys wear long baggy shorts, especially guys who have nice legs and would really look good! I hope that the least of what comes from this is that guys will come halfway and realize that mid-thigh shorts are a viable option.

ReplyDeleteMy husband has marvelous legs. In the olden days men used to wear short shorts. I loved looking at men's legs. I even volounteered to chart for the high school basketball team so I could see the great legs. I think today's basketball "shorts" are funny looking.

I like something between picture one and two. In the top picture the shorts are too high and too tight and picture two they are too big. Somewhat in between.

Yes there's a girl here in South Florida that does the Brazilian hair striaghtening and she does a great job. She has a great website with the before and after photos and the change from kink to straight is amazing.

Like that is an attractive look, fish white from the waist down to just above the ankles. The current trend in men's baggy cargo shorts is as ridiculous as the EXTREME short shorts found on men in the 80s.
