There is the more classic biker chic kind like this one from Alice + Olivia (left)- I love it! And then there is the more casual looking ones like this one from Mike & Chris with a combo of material giving it a sportier edge (Mike & Chris- think Rachel Bilson last year).
To make them more layer friendly, some designers also made these cropped biker chic leather jackets like these two from Sword (left) and Clandestine for DKNY (right). I especially LOVE the soft dove grey color of the Sword leather jacket. I can totally imagine it over a flowy black dress looking very cool.
Here we play with the fit and the neckline at Madison Marcus (left) and Adam plus Eve (right). Its interesting... but I got to say, not my favourite.
Going a bit more to the extreme, we have these girly-fied leather jackets with added feminine touches from Madison Marcus. I think the brown one with the frills (left) is a bit too much but I love the grey one with the ruffled neckline (right)- its perfect!Sigh... too bad for me that leather jackets are about one of the most expensive types of jackets out there.....

I like the last gray leather jacket with the ruffled neckline. Have you ever seen a bronze metallic leather jacket? I remember seeing one one Molly Sims in Instyle and it was super.
ReplyDeletei saw a gorgeous one at zara, the leather was beautiful, it was screaming quality. although it was shaped as aclassic biker jacket, it wasn't as punky, but it was more mature with a twist; the shoulders and chest are were quilted leather; the one i saw was a rich light brown.

I love leather jackets. The one with the ruffles is ugly (lethear combined with ruffles? doesn't click in my head), but the rest are sexy! I've seen a similar one to the one from Sword except in white. It was very nice..so I like the Sword one best from the bunch, but it looks expensive.

ReplyDeleteMy boyfriend is a biker. I love riding with him, but I'm a bit far from a biker. I had never seen a motorcycle up close until I met him. That said, I love the motorcycle styles that are in now... however, I think that if you're shooting for a look with a motorcycle leather jacket, it should be authentic. I found some really nice jackets by Milwaukee Motorcycle Clothing Company. They have many style jackets, but I love the Women's Classic Rider leather Jacket, but I got the Lady Warrior Leather Motorcycle Jacket with the modern collar. They even have a few brown motorcycle leather jackets for women too... my boyfriend has one of the men's jackets and swears by it, so I knew they were nice jackets. Awesome fashion blog–Kudos :-)
