Braun Cordless Stylers

The other day when I was having lunch with my little eleven year old cousin, I discovered the cutest thing. She'd curled her hair and I asked if she bought a curling iron and she said yes, in fact she was doing it on her way to lunch on the car. And I was like, what?? On the car?? How??

Then she whipped it out of her tiny purse and showed me this Braun Cordless Styler. It was SO cute! It is just one long curling stick, in this adorable light blue color with a clear lid so you don't get burnt when the iron is cooling down, with none of that long wire hassle. It operates on this thing that looks like some kind of liquid gas, but they call it special energy cells and it supposedly lasts for 8 hrs- although we have not put it to the test yet so I can't vouch for it. What I CAN vouch for is that it heats up quickly and that is actually works. My cousin did it for my hair on the spot during lunch (just a few strands) and it curled just fine! Plus, its cheap. I heard it was only about $30USD.

Maybe I'm just way behind on the technology of curling irons (or too caught up with the T3 tech), but before that, I've never heard of a cordless curling iron before and I'm in awe!

  1. Cordless curling irons have been around since the mid 80s. I used to own one when I was about your cousin's age. They have probably come a long way since mine, but they are certainly nothing new. I suppose it's about time that I invest in one.

  3. I have a request...I'm in an orchestra, where the requirement for a dress is all black, floor length, no low necks, and it would be best to not have your arms showing either...Generally nerdy. I'm having a heck of a time. If you feel like a challenge, please help me!

  4. I have a pretty awesome cordless straightening iron. It takes a while to heat up, and I wouldn't dare use it on my whole head, but it's great for touch-ups.

I think it may have been discontinued in the last year though, as seems to happen to all things that I adore.

  6. I can use any hair appliance I own in the car. I can use my hair flat iron, curling iron, blow dryer, etc. You can purchase at Radioshack a gadget that plugs into (what in the old days we called) the "cigarette lighter". The gadget has about three outlets just like in your house. It will run any small appliance. Charge your cell phone at the same time.

  9. KatseyJ,

It's a Conair. It actually kind of looks like a curling iron at first glance.

  10. Oh! I bought this one in Boots in London 3 years ago. It works!!! You can curl and straight your hair in 5 minutes. It's easy to control the heat level for not burning your hair. It is a very functional gear to stay well-groomed all day long. Moreover, it is small enough to carry it in your smallest bag!

Bad news is that I only found the batteries (Braun energy cell) in Boots and since I haven't visited London in 3 years I haven't used it again :(
