oooh i love the bus one! but i'd never carry it - it reminds me of a kid's lunchbox :) very cool designs though! the frog is actually quite wearable, as is the fish with the right outfit... the clown, though, is just creepy :)

I like the tortoise bag (but not really any of the other ones)... For the tortoise bag, as long as you wear 'normal', stylish clothes, the bag could well be an interesting, eclectic highlight to an outfit rather than something immature and ugly.
ReplyDeleteBraccialini is an Italian brand but I have never never never seen someone, here in Italy, wearing one of those bags (thank God). I like eccentric accessories but Braccialini bags are completely out of my likes.

Fashion is about expression! I have at least ten Braccialini bags and whenever I wear them around new york people always stop me and ask me where I got them. There are also a variety of sizes/styles of less expensive (but still pricey) frog tapestry bags in the collection. The materials and craftsmanship are of high quality, but do not take you to the extreme edge of design like this showpiece does.
I just returned from a tour of Italy, and our guide had a frog tapestry tote. The unique look grew on us, and before we departed for the U.S., several women in our group bought frog tapestry handbags in various sizes/styles.
No, these bags aren't for everyone. I'm glad I found this site and its love it/hate it comments. I believe that all positive comments mean the designer has gone mainstream (like Coach has in the U.S.).
I prefer to buy one good item on a trip, vs. buying a lot of less expensive souvenirs. (I can get Gucci, Prada, etc. in the U.S., so why get on a plane to buy one?)
This company's work reminds me of the London-based Lulu Guinness collection. Braccialini is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2006. I've learned the next collection will feature bees.
I also just bought a braccialini winter 06 van bag. It's so cool!

Bags can be works of art - I bought a Gucci Flora bag a couple of years ago and it hangs on display in my spare room when I'm not using it! I'd definitely use the frog bag, it would look great with this season's red coats. Better get out the credit card...

I was recently in italy and the braccialini store in milan. they had the cutest stuff. I fell in love with their designs and had severe buyers regret that i did not buy a bag when i was there. But they are opening a store in new york this spring.

ReplyDeleteTo be honest, my opinion is that Braccialini handbags are gorgeous when accessorised correctly. No one can outright say that any piece is hideous because any part of an outfit can be gorgeous when correctly assembled. Just imagine that vibrancy as an accent to a simple ivory suit. As long as there are not too many colours going on the bags just shine.
