Hair Extensions

After a flock of celebs chopped their hair short, some of the trend-setting girls have just very recently gotten hair extensions!

Nicole Richie
Short hair:
With hair extensions:
Hmm, I think I prefer Nicole without the hair extensions. I always thought that short bob of hers looked really chic. I mean, her bob is always so perfectly fixed and thus never fails to look stylish on her. With the hair extensions, she looks more girl-next-door than cool fashionista.

Sienna Miller
Short hair:
With hair extensions:
I hate Sienna Miller with short hair. There has been very few photos where she actually looked good in short hair. Acting as Edie Sedgewick on screen is all and well, but she really needs to get over trying to imitate Edie in real life. OK, so she looks terrible in hair extensions too -it just looks funny on her. Think it's too blonde, or wait, it looks more like a wig than hair extensions. I wish she would get her old hairstyle /color back, or at least get a better hair color!

Mary Kate Olsen
Long hair:
With hair extensions:
I love MK and all, but recently she's been wearing hair extensions to a few public events. It's just she's short, and even though she's skinny, that very long hair really weighs her down. (And the fact that her skin color is so similar to her hair color doesn't help either.) Besides her hair usually has such a fantastic length (long but not too long.) Thank goodness her hair extensions aren't to stay!

What I would really like to know is how she keeps her hair so shiny when she dyes it so often!

  1. Sienna and Nicole look fine with extensions, but MK freaks me out. Alot.

  2. I agree with Harrods Girl's assessments - the hair extensions look bad on all three of the abovementioned women. They are especially obvious on Mary Kate and Nicole, because they have these huge helmut-like manes around their heads that then thin out where their real hair ends and only the extension is visible. It makes them look even more "big head on a stick body" looking.

  3. "Gotten" hair extensions. Jeez, you guys really need to proofread more, there are usually a few blantant typos in each post!

  5. nicole richie does look better with short hair - she looks so much older in long hair (at least in this picture).

never a big fan of sienna miller, but just comparing her short and long hairstyles, the long suits her better (not that it suits her at all, just better than the short).

  6. Nicole Richie looks like Julie Cooper with long hair. i think Sienna looks ok (not fab though) with her short hair but her extensions do look weird. time to change stylists. and yeah, mk just looks scary

The comment above contains a sentence fragment, slang, a run-on sentence and a misspelled word!

  8. wait. did MK also get a nose job with her hair extensions?

  9. I never really like Sienna Miller anyway, her fashion sense is always like Kate Moss, plus i never really get why she's so famous to be featured a thousands time in the tabloid. Don't hate..don't like her either... and ya.. i a gree, the short hair style doesn't match her at all.

    Grammer?

True this is a blog, but when you publish something for the public proof-reading is still a necessity.

  12. At least they have the luxury of them - I know how it is to want to have long hair when it's short!!!! I remember wishing I had the $3-5k. Of course at $3-5k you would think they would look better.

  13. Nicole Richie looks so much older in her extensions. And the other two look ok. I guess it's fun to play around with your hair...

  14. anon: Thanks for pointing out our grammar mistake. We'll keep that in mind next time we write. We do make an effort to write more grammatically correct. Notice how we now use 'classic' instead of 'classical'. So we are listening!

As for typos, a lot of times, we are just so busy with our daily lives that we don't have time to proof-read properly. But again, we'll definitely make more of an effort in the future.

Thanks for being so understanding about our writing everybody! We promise to try harder in the future to do better.

Do you have something against commas?

  16. You forgot Mischa Barton!!!!

But I love them all. Nicole seems to have more fashion style since her "divorce" from Paris.

  17. I love how short hair frames the face and makes the eyes look so big, but I think SM's is a bit too short.

  18. Nicole Richie looks like a 40 year old with the hair extensions because they're so grey!

MK looks even more shorter than normal with hair extensions...

  21. I'm borderline obsessed with all those girls with extensions. So cute!

MK looks gorgeous with long, or even longer hair. And Nicole and super gorg. I like her with longer hair b/c it makes her look a little less bony.

  22. I think both short, long and extremely long hair, are all beautiful options of lengths; it just depends on the person, the style, color, and how you can pull it off, personality-wise...and even then it's their own choice. What one might find as ugly, another might adore it. You can't please everyone.

Just for the sake of argument, although everyone has a right to their opinions, I think it's somewhat arrogant to classify this or that person as terrible or using the word "hate." Such strong words, as well as possibly inaccurate in other people's eyes.

In my culture, it is normal to possess super-long, lush hair (and I've had both long and short hair--part. when I had cancer and had to grow my hair back--at the time it was VERY short, and I did hate it, but I would've been so offended and hurt if someone like you people made fun of me for it. You can say, "Oh, I didn't know," and that's the point I'm making--you DON'T know these people--nor I--so all the more reason not to make prejudgments. You don't know what any other person is going through to result in the look they possess).

I know that some people think that one girl's extensions in the picture, are "too long." But too long for whom? You? She is not on this planet for you; she is on this planet for herself.

There is no such thing as "right" or "wrong" regarding someone's choice of hairstyle. Hair, clothes, makeup, etc., are an art--something for self-expression...something to have fun with, which is simply what these girls are doing.

If these women choose to wear their hair as such, then so be it; who are any of us to act as the setting standard of what someone else should look like? That's incredibly arrogant, in my opinion.

Lastly, if you're going to form an opinion of these girls based on supposed visual facts, at least be accurate. The blond woman's extensions DO look natural, and don't look like a wig. I was boggled when you said such a thing. A wig would look quite thick and bulbous, yet, upon examination, her hair is definitely fine and thinner than that of anything remotely mimicing a wig.

True artists learn to appreciate variation; stop the nitpicking and let the women do what they wish, without brash comments.

  25. Hi my name is Ella and I am a hair extensions addict. I can change the length and texture of my hair and I absolutely love it!! Ladies whatever you do DO NOT go to the salon and have them put all sorts of glues and crap in your hair. I spent $2000 doing that and it was disastrous. Now I only buy the clip extensions from hairinaminute.com they are really good. The hair is made from Indian Remy human hair which is the same that these stars wear. You can put in the clip extensions yourself and the dont ever come out. Any other way of wearing extesnions is asking for trouble.

  26. NICOLE RICHIE HAS HAIR EXTENSIONS IN ALL OF THOSE PICTURES. SO MAYBE TAKE A CLOSER LOOK BEFORE YOU POST SOME COMMENTS LIKE THAT, IT JUST MAKES YOU SOUND STUPID, CONSIERING YOU CAN EVER SEE WHERE THEY ARE JOINED TO HER NATURAL HAIR.

  27. I think Sienna looked super cute with short hair, I almost prefer it on her, she looks fine with long hair too. I also think nicole richie looks cute in short locks, having short hair with faces like that brings out all the delicate features that women want. Mk should not have such long extensions due to her height and weight, but as with extensions they can easily be removed. I love the fact that short hair can be long and beautiful in just hours.

  31. I have worn hair extensions in all methods for years. I recommend the best way to go is clip-ins.

They allow for versatility for different hairstyles and they are wonderful for ponytails.

They don't damage the hair, because each night when you take them out, you get a reality check on the status of your real hair. Somethings traditional hair extensions don't allow for.

    Also...so much cheaper!!!

I swear by the 7pcs brand sold Sunny's Hair and Wigs.com

The bags are pre-packaged with Remi Hair and you just need one bag for a full head weave.

I also like the Indian Remy hair clip-ins but they are so expensive, and you don't really need the top of the line for things you clip in.

Most tangling occurs from washing too much or sleeping at night...and clip ins avoid that.

But be warned...they aren't great when you are in a new relationship. Nothing takes away your sexy faster than unclipping your hair before bed.

  32. hair extensios are fun and versatile. Nicole looks great with them short or long. The most important thing about hair extensions is to ensure that the color and texture matcheas your own hair. I cant stand to see the totally obvious fake extensions. You dont have to spend a ton of money on extensins anymore because so many companies are selling them now. My favorite are the clip in extensions from www.hairinaminute.com The human hair costs about $140 and you can put them in yourself. Hope this helps someone!

  34. Hello everyone,

Clip in extensions are a great choice for a dramatic short-term change. I purchased Malaysian Remy hair from Aja Brown of Remy Hair Style. She's located out of Pasadena, and provided excellent customer service and competitive prices.

She really took her time and went over all of the alternatives.

    Her website is www.remyhairstyle.com

Please leave me a message if you'd like her direct line or you can email her at info@remyhairstyle.com

Don't be conned by the inexpensive Christian Louboutin Sale because their quality is significantly inferior compared to the genuine designer shoes made from real leather. The most stupid mistake manufactured by these low quality Christian Louboutin Pumps manufacturers is that they paint the complete sole of the shoe in bright red color. However in exact original designer Christian Louboutin Boots , the only is always black from the edges. Their manufacturing dept makes sure not to over look such minute details as the online store makes a plea to be the best in manufacturing Christian Louboutin Sandals .
