Pass The Bubbly Please

Ah. The New Year is upon us - where did the time go? One more reason to celebrate with friends and loved ones, and one more reason to dress up and look fabulous. I'm sure you have all found your dresses already but I just passed by the store window of BCBG the other day. BCBG has always attracted me, there is something simple and ethereal about their dresses, and their cutting (for me at least, is superb).

Their dresses make you feel almost old hollywood glam or simply modern chic. I know they're rather simple, definitely something you've seen before, but talk about excellent draping! I don't know, there's something about them that makes me fall in love.


Love the velvet bodice of this dress!


This dress is actually much more beautiful in person.


Aughhh...I need to get this - look at that sleeve detail!


So simple, so lovely (especially the colour). Hm, I will advise you not to wear a headband that the model demonstrates...


Ok, kind of generic I know, princess cut blah blah blah. But the material! And a colour that would look great on all skin tones.

    I think the dresses are cute but I feel as if BCBG is ideal for younger girls looking for their best grown up dresses. I mean New Years is optimal for fun and girly party dresses, and usually vintage party dresses have the best cuts for those types of occasions.
    For example that yellow ankle length dress has a weird palette. For example, floral prints are incredibly chic at the moment but that yellow shading on a very light raw silk? With velvet? The physics and design seem a little amateurish.
    I find that BCBG hasn't been new and unique, but I guess that's because Max is giving his full attention to Herve.

    I really like the first dress, particularly because I have something similar to it in a tube top version of it. It also has a velvet type band along the empire waist. I feel like the Yellow floral one wouldn't be good for NYE, but might just be perfect for a wedding. I think the velvet combination with the silk is good and different. It brings a heavy, dark, warm material with a light and airy material, making it more appropriate for the colder months of the year.

    I actually wrote about this myself. I will be at a friends house, but I am still wearing a shiny berry colored tank top. Afterall, you HAVE to wear something shiny on New Years.

    I think I'm even gonna get some kind of shiny collar for my dog (who is also invited to the party!)

    I think it's true that vintage is usually the way to go for an occasion like this, but the dresses are all very pretty. The last one though seems a bit high-school formal, but besides that, the cuts are great!

    I bought a BCBG dress out of desperation -about 3 years ago the zipper of a dress I had planned on wearing to a wedding broke. It's still a great style and never looks dated so I'm having a hard time letting it go.

It also means that like any publication, Wikipedia may reflect the cultural, age, socio-economic, and other biases of its contributors. There is no systematic process to make sure that "obviously important" topics are written about, so Wikipedia may contain unexpected oversights and omissions.
