The Fashionable "Claire's"
Having compared shopping notes with Harrods Girl, I have come up with the conclusion that we need a much more fashionable version of Claire's in America, like the Accessorize they have in the UK, which has been named number one on the "high street accessories" category by In Style UK (magazine.) While their philosophy is both to supply relatively cheap but fashionable accessories to the general population, they have one very distinct and important difference. Accessorize is clearly aimed at more trendy and fashionable consumers. Here are a few of their oh-so-fashionable and lovely accessories:
Isn't this colorful floral patterned bag simply divine?
Patchwork, which was featured in Marc by Marc Jacobs this season.
And these earthy but funky jewellry would go perfectly with the bohemian luxe look this season!
Claire's on the other hand, is obviously aimed at a much younger (notice the heart shaped cursor they have on the site) and less fashion orientated audience. Although they DO provide some very nice cheap but classical items of accessories that everyone needs. I especially love these stone heart hoop earrings, giving a twist to the normal hoops.

Makes you want to move to the UK... you have no idea. I'd go just for the food. But, I do tend to bring home a lot of clothes when we visit. They are so much further ahead that we are. And at least I won't see someone else in the same outfit.

Yes, Accessorize is indeed a great shop to have around, especially for fashionable earrings.
I go to San Fransisco every summer, and used to make annual visits to Claire's. Claire's was great for kiddy jewelery when we were kids, but after going for a few years, I have realised that Claire's sell the same looking items every year. They hardly change their designs and the designs are no where near trendy.

YES! That link for Accessorize took me to a Monsoon page - is that actually the Claire's kind of store you have there?! I want to go *whimper*. LOVE the bags.
Oh and you know what my absolute favorite thing is? To be introduced to another quality online store with wonderful, classy, great stuff. Yay! ~off to find out if I can order from the US
