Screen Actors Guild Awards 2006 Fashion

So many awards all at once. All the dresses are starting to overwhelm me! I wasn't going to write about the fashion from the Screen Actors Guild Awards since I just wrote about the Golden Globes last week, but there were a few dresses I loved so much I can't possibly not ooh and ahh over here.

I LOVE love love this dress!! Ziyi Zhang looks absolutely amazing and just so so pretty! Another excellent fashion choice.

Hmm, I'm not so sure this YSL dress suits Reese Witherspoon really well, but she looks mega adorbale. Her smile is seriously the only genuine-looking one out of all the red carpet stars. But then again, she is the one who won the Best Actress Award and has a cute husband.

This is another dress I like. It's so simple, but the cutting is gorgeous. And as usual, Hilary Swank fits well in it, (although maybe she should cut out too much arm toning exercises.)

Sandra Oh... I love her as an actress. If any of you have watched her in Grey's Anatomy, then you'll know she's an amazing actress. This Versace dress looks really unique and suprisingly not slutty-looking! Sandra pulls it off well. And she must have got instructions how to pose because these photos are way better than the Golden Globes' ones!

Speaking of Sandra Oh, we must take a look at Ellen Pompeo. Her dress is well, sort of boring but the color suits her.

And finally, we have the cast of Desperate Housewives:

Aww... so sweet. Doesn't Andrea Bowen remind you of prom?

Teri Hatcher looks great in that dress. The shape of the dress is so interesting and definitely not everyone can pull it off.

Individually speaking, Felicity Huffman's Nicole Miller dress is sort of boring; Eva Longoria's dress color is NOT her best color; Marcia Cross looks gorgeous as usual; and Nicollette Sheridan's horrific green totally clashes with her blonde. And finally for once, their colors don't match -their stylists must have forgot to consult each other!

I need to know what shoes Reese is wearing.

YSL perhaps? It's a little to minimal for YSL.

Ciao

Uhh.
1) Ziyi's hair makes her looks like a swamp creature. Her upper torso is too skinny/small/whatever for that dress(which is lovely).
2) Sandra Oh sometimes looks like a transvestite, don't you agree?
3)Cast of Desperate Housewives all look like they're in some shampoo commercial.

What were they all thinking!

The Desperate Housewives cast aren't looking so good... not a fan of Teri Hatcher's dress at all :S Hilary Swank's dress would probably be the best choice out of all those.

LOVED Ziyi's dress. For one thing, she looks good AND different. Yeah. Teri Hatcher's dress doesn't do much for me either.

Hmmm these dresses are so interesting! I think Reese should have used a bronzer if she really wanted to pull off that dress. Also I just don't understand why people say Reese has a beautiful smile. Its so clenched and to me that makes her smile all the more fake. Shouldn't people smile with more ease - isnt that more charming?! I guess beauty really is in the eyes of the beholder.
Also I really enjoy your site! There is no better way to unwind at the end of the day than looking at pretty lil pics of fashion!

hmm...talking about ziyi zhang's amazing dress,I really really admit that the whole thingy makes her more charming than ever..altho i dont think i like her or her performances in Geisha, her dressing indeed wins a hell lot of applause...
Marcia Cross can be more gorgeous if she didnt wear that colour,i reckon...it seems to me that the violet doesnt fit her red hair..
just personal idea..

Hilary Swank is getting a divorce. I highly doubt her smile looks the way it does b/c of her "cute" husband.

before i even saw your comment about Reese Witherspoon, I knew that dress was a YSL. You can spot their designs from a million miles away... :)

For Anonymous, the smile and cute husband comments were referring to Reese W., not Hilary.

No necklaces or other jewelry in the photos? Is it the latest fashion to go without jewelry?

I was really just absolutely bored with the outfits. I think everyone saved their worst dresses for this event. I will have to disagree w/ some. Teri Hatcher's plum pleated dress cinched at the waist was really the only look I liked. Hillary Swank's was ok, but it looked like something Sara J Parker had wore on several occasions.

Note that none of the ladies accessorized much, which I don't like. You need accessories to add a personal touch. They all just look to similar?

Best wishes and enjoy!

Wow teri hatcher's dress is beautiful and so elegant looking. Ziyi's dress looks quite oriental..maybe because of the designs? Well i really looooove it. But eva looks so short..and..well the color, i agree, is really pale.

I though that Thandie Newton's Luisa Beccaria gown was one of most beautiful gowns of the evening. Classic yet elegant, she looked like Audrey Hepburn.

oh, Sandra Oh! I love this dress on her, black and white stripes I think can sometimes look a bit jail, but this is just gorgeous. And the shoes match perfectly. This is my fave, for sure
