Dior Gormette and Laura Mercier Liquid Crystals

It's that time of the season again when Dior retails and advertises for yet another makeup-hidden-inside-jewelry. Almost a year ago there was the Paris Hilton-lookalike wearing the Dior cosmetic ring (in the ad.) Then there was the keychain in fall. This time around, Dior took a little leaf out of YSL's books and created a cosmetic braclet: the Dior Gormette.

I'm sure all of you would have seen this ad in magazines by now. I quite like this ad -it's very Dior in a stylish, casual streetwear sort of way. The makeup on the model is basically everything pink. Thank goodness for the dark layer of eyeliner and shadows around her eyes that makes her look sexy girly instead of bubblegum-pop girly.

The braclets are available in two sets of lip colors:
Street Charm
Urban Chic
I couldn't resist talking about the Laura Mercier Liquid Crystal Lip Glaces too. When I first saw the Liquid Crystals, I thought it was such a weird thing! In bottle, the lip gloss looked like a whirl of psychodelic colors, so what would it look if it was on the lips? Out of curiousity and boredom (I was waiting for my facial appointment in Space NK,) I tried on one of the three Liquid Crystals and was so AMAZED! This lip glace is seriously shiny. The amount of color pigments is just right. The colors are quite bright so it's more of a summer lip color than winter. A little bit of warning though, I read in customer reviews that it has terrible staying power. I didn't buy it because I still had a few bottles of unfinished lip glosses at home, but maybe this summer......

Mmm fantastic!

I wore my Dior ring for 3 days before I decided it was too heavy and big for my hand. Can't wait!

My cheap thrill thats the equivalent to that lipgloss: Avon watercolor gloss tubes. I haven't seen them in the states, but they are in Japan and China and France & England

Ciao

i was given this laura mercier gloss as a gift last fall and am completely in love w/ it. it looks perfect w/ almost all makeup styles and anything you wear. you are correct the staying power isn't exactly amazing, but it's gloss so you can feel free to reapply it all day and you don't even need a mirror.

I haven't tried this LM gloss, but I have a few others from the line and not only do I love the color and gloss texture, but they taste great, too. Sort of Floral? Anyway, the only sad part is that they're really 'spensive and run out quickly. Mark for Avon has great cheap gloss, as does E.L.F. (one dollar per gloss...can't beat it with a stick.)

Oh my gosh I love it! When is it coming to the U.S.? I tried to look it up on Sephora and they don't even have it up yet! Where can I get it?

Luisa, the Dior bracelet is $70. Sephora doesn't sell it yet, I saw it advertised in a magazine last week, called my local Sephora, and was told that they will begin selling it in the spring (no specific date was given). I think this is a great idea, and unlike the ring, this bracelet is chic and sophisticated. My only worry is that the makeup will melt and get all over the inside of the bracelet-I'm a total neat freak when it comes to my clothes, jewelry, etc., so that will NOT go over well with me, lol. Did anyone who bought the ring have a problem with the makeup getting all over the inside of the ring?
