A Little Something More. .

Just a little something I observed on the Marc by Marc Jacobs runway.

Having colored textured socks peaking out your boots over black stockings. This is probably not some amazingly new idea, but it just never occured to me before. Its simple, inexpensive, everyone can do it and it just adds a little something more to an otherwise simple outfit. It can be slouchy. .

It can be neat (left), with or without (right) stockings underneath.

Or you can just show a little lace like they did at D&G. Isn't this all so neat? Its probably extra warm too. LOL. Just wanted to share this little observation with everyone to liven up these dreary winter days.

I do like the lace peeking out from the boot... great use of texture!

The other pics threw me into a fashion flashback. They remind me of a trend from the very late 80s when it was cool to wear slouchy socks over leggings or stirrups and to match the color of the socks to your top or wear several pairs together in a creative color scheme. It was rather ugly for most. (Hint: this look works better with long legs.)

Both the laces and the socks look great. Of course it doesn't hurt to have boots like that... Neet idea though, thanks for sharing. :)

Hmm... interesting. These boots are cute, and more so with the additional texture, something tells me you need killer legs and a short skirt for these or you will instead look awful.

for this look to work, the boots can't be plain jane brown or black ones, colorful/detailed boots required....and yeah, it wouldn't hurt if the person was tall or very slender, like a model, hehe....
good job pointing this out, nevertheless!
