YSL Muse Bag
I've been meaning to write about the YSL Muse bag for ages, but keep forgetting. Yes, the YSL Muse bag has almost reached IT bag status. Basically this means that many celebs have been sporting it and most, if not all stores are already sold out.

You can also personalise your Muse with two initials for free at Neiman Marcus, although personally I would prefer the bag initial-free.
OK, so which celeb has been toting the Muse? Kate Moss was the first to be seen carrying it way back last year (near the time of her drug scandal.) Then the others followed...

Naomi Watts somehow manages to make the Muse look less 'structured'. Hers also looks smaller.
Jennifer Lopez uses the white Muse to match her black & white outfit. It looks great with her black boots!
I think out of all the celebs I've seen, Jessica Alba seems to carry the Muse the best. Because like I said, the Muse is a structured bag (unlike the Chloe Paddington,) and Alba's whole outfit here -the coat and button-up shirt/dress underneath -looks very professional and 'structured' also.

sensible and well-designed--i like the fact that it's tailored and LARGE
ugh just because it's an 'it' bag doesn't mean it's a good bag.
the handles aren't large enough for the bag, and the front is very plain (i personally don't like that style) it looks like a suitcase that isn't astetically pleasing.
i don't like the huge bag trend. it doesn't look proportial on petite people, like the Olsen Twins or Lindsay Lohan. Even on Jessica Alba, it's larger than her entire torso!
Update us on fashion and style, not just what celebs are buying. Tabloids can do that.
I like it best on Jessica Alba too.

Is it just me or is this bag WAY too BIG?!?! It looks mor elike carry-on luggage... Maybe I'm just a sucker for all things tiny and cute, but to me, some things just look better small- like itsy bitsy ballet flats on size 5 or 6 feet.
The way I see it is that at least this bag is practical. I'm not sure what Lohan is carrying around in hers, but I sure do know what I would carry in mine; everyhing! I can imagine myself bringing this bag to work, on a trip, etc. It looks like a different bag on Naomi Watts, though!
i love the large bag trend; small bags are so confining, you can't live out of a tiny bag; it's a joy to have someplace to stash even your sweater, a small shopping purchase--you're ready for anything with a large bag--this bag basically looks like a rounded tote, and totes are fabulous all-purpose bags for busy lives
It seems like just about everything looks better on Jessica Alba - this bag included!
I was a die hard mini purse person for a really long time and bought my first large bag this season. I love it!
I have the large Muse in white and I love how I can put my whole life in it!
the bag is nice, but not the "to die for" type, maybe 'cause i stopped having feelings for YSL bags. the white looks best, and i loved Alba's look in that photo... plus i don't find it extremely huge! big bags are so in and great for busy people.
btw, i love the blue birkin carried by Lohan's mom!
One quick question: I think I have heard about this bag before, that it was created with someone in mind (a "muse")...but I can't recall whom it is. Can someone help me out?
i like large bags, just not this one, probably coz its too large. and naomi watts is not carrying the ysl muse. it looks like an entirely different bag.
naomi watts is carrying a smaller version but it is a YSL muse. this is actually the same color and size i've been pining for since December but somehow, i'm already outgrowing my desire of it. time for another "it" bag!
btw, i was in bellagio las vegas a month ago the YSL boutique there had muse bags in several colors and sizes. just fyi in case someone finds them backordered elsewhere.
I have a white one, I posted it once. I really only wear it with black-and-white and chiffon skirts, though. It just doesn't mesh well with jeans.
A brown one or maybe a textured skin would probably work better... like the ostrich.
Sorry! I don't get this bag except may be on Kate Moss. It looks a little old and conservative. Given the number of celebrities who are using it, I've tried really hard to like it in the past few months but can't...
i love this bag, i'm sacrificing 3 months of allowance and a quarter of my pay for this! it's got to be worth it!
I just bought this bag in the large version (which is the size that Namoi Watts is wearing in the photo). This bag is a "classic" uptown girl handbag. It is the type of bage that you will have forever and it will always be in style...just plain classy. I don't want to spend $1400 which it what it costs with tax on something that you have for one season...it's a waste. The bigger version which Lohan and Lopez are carrying is really big I was going to get that one at first but when I saw it in Bergdorf Goodman the large one is mor sophisticated...and I am not a little person and the large still looks big enough. Anyway, the bag is gorgeous and shen you see the quality of it in person you will certainly fall in love!
I just purchased ysl muse bag and i love it. I brought the large one which is $1295 the extra large one is what jennifer lopez and jessica alba is rocking is $1395. i regret in not getting the extra large one.
when you look at this bag it's perfection... in any color... you're lying if you don't think so... just because you can't pull it off in the bigger size.
You can't compare a mini bg to this... they are different scenarios... different places to go...
Have just linked to you. This bag is beautiful, it puts the Paddington in the shade now that every footballer's wife and their dog has one. Love the way it is structured, yet can be dressed down a la Kate Moss or up... does anyone else see something alittle retentive in Jessica Alba's outfit there? Shame for the bag ;)
read all the comments and thought to add mine. i have a tan muse myeself and at 1st sight fell in love with it and i have had it since early 2007 but 2 years on, not sure am feeling it. despite the structured look, its not quite so sturtured. collapses after some time. it only maintains the shape when its being carried so have put it on the market for well used 2nds'
how can you tell a fake one frm the real one?
