Tell me more, more, more

Generally, I never wear makeup because I have sensitive skin (and I'm a lazy bum!). But when I do manage to get around to putting it on, I use all of the above.

Yes, I sort of look like a walking advertisement for Bare Escentuals. I actually just started using the brand a couple of days ago and I'm hooked. Their powder foundation is incredible. It's light, feels and looks as if I've got nothing on, except, all of a sudden I have immaculate skin. Comparable to an airbrush - I swear, it covers everything. If you need more coverage, just press some extra powder on that particular area before you apply it to your entire face. Walah! Instant concealer!

One thing that I am very particular about is mascara. I have really long eye lashes, and I don't want bother with an eyelash curler, clumping, or something that's too heavy. Lancome's L'EXTREME mascara is just right for me because it makes my lashes even longer! It's clean, curls my lashes, doesn't flake, and goes on ever so smoothly.

I got my M.A.C pigment as a gift from a friend. "Naked" is a great colour as it has just the right shimmer, it looks great on the inner corners of the eyes and on the bottom lid along with some liner. For some more drama, you can brush a touch on top of your cheekbones for a night out.

While I pretty much only wear what I just told you, the amount of makeup that I own would make you think otherwise. I own a lot of makeup, most of which I use once every 2 years (I don't think you're even supposed to keep it for that long). Before, I kept it all in multiple makeup bags - very unorganized. Now I keep it one big pouch, thanks to my friend A who has started to make these adorable pouches that she sells on Etsy. Awesome prints, really great quality, and the perfect carrier for all my stuff.

That's what I've got in my bag, what are your essentials?

I LOVE Bare Escentuals! It really is that good. I swear, as much as I've talked it up to friends, I should be getting paid for all the free advertising I provide! And I just might have to try out that mascara.

I have Bare Ecentuals, but I never wear it. I do notice a change when I put it on but I don't think Im putting it on properly or enough. I kinda just flick my brush around . Proper technique anyone?

Proper technique is to buff your brains out!

I also use Bare Escentuals foundation, mineral veil, warmth.

I use Dior mascara and stick by it, though I've heard Lash Blast was great.

I work with BE (I work for ULTA and my job is putting Bare Escentuals on people. All day.) and this is my personal technique:

Put a small amount in the lid. If you have too much, you'll get a big puff of smoke and you'll lose a lot of the mineral. Swirl the brush in the lid and PRESS. Think of it like you're cleaning the lid with your brush. You're trying to get the minerals on the inside of the bristles. They work best that way. You're also warming the minerals. Tap the excess off (very important) and buff in small circles around your face. The more you buff, the better it will go on. I always buff over the entire face before i get more product. I think that's the problem sometimes...people go back for more product too quickly.

If you need extra coverage somewhere, use the concealer brush. That brush is magic.

My personal faves that I can't live without? Lorac's Perfectly Lit powder.. I look like my face is bright all day long. I always get comments on my skin when I wear it. Benefit's Thrrob blush is my new obsession. And I can't live without Too Faced Precision Lash Injection. Love.

I have crazy sensitive skin as well that sometimes leaves me a bit red in a few spots. I start with an herbal moisturizer, then Lancome concealer, and the Lash Blast Mascara (which so far is the one of my favourites).

The first year Bare Minerals came out, I tried it and absolutely loved it! I threw a Bare Minerals party and invited all my sisters and bought them each a kit matching their skin tone. We've all been hooked since! =)

hey you guys! I just want to comment on Smashbox's photo finish primer and how flawless your skin looks with it! I was with some friends at Sephora trying it out and we immediately noticed how it covers our pores and blemishes! And the best thing is it looks SO NATURAL, like you are born with dewy beautiful skin!! The only down side is it's expensive (i'm still a student), but this is first on my list to buy when i get some extra cash!!!
p.s. i know you guys are talking about bare essentials, but it reminded me of smashbox since i see these two brands together at sephora all the time!

My Beauty Essentials:

Youngblood Mineral Powder -- just because BE isn't available where I live.

Benefit Creaseless Eyeshadow

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer

Nars Blush

Shu Uemura Eyebrow Pencil

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner Pencil in Black/Brown

Lip Balm :)

Agree with you on the effectiveness of Lancome mascaras! I use Hypnose. It really is amazing, but I don't use it everyday. Just for nights out.

I personally recommend Bare Essentials products, because they are godsend.  I would recommend them because as a person with oily combination skin it is make-up that will definitely cover up any scaring or current blemish’s without clogging your pores as liquid foundation typically does. On top of that, the mineral make-up is in powder form so it is easily mixed to match any skin tone at any time of the year. Whether it be summer or winter you can use the same skin tones by mixing them to match what your grade of tan.
