Velvet

One of my current favourite brands is Velvet. I bought my first piece, a gorgeous purple long sleeved v necked piece with a brooch in the middle, from Velvet during the Thanksgiving Sales at Neiman Marcus. Since then, I've been in love with Velvet items. Simple yet trendy, Velvet pieces are elegantly wearable, of high quality, flattering, fitting and super soft. They feel absolutely divine. Designers Jenny Graham and Toni Spencer are genius!

Unfortunately for us, even though Velvet clothes can be found in almost any department store and places like Anthropologie and Brown Focus, there is precious little of it found online (I've spent HOURS looking for them and one cannot very well type 'velvet fashion' to look it up). But here are a few pieces that I did find from Shopbop.

I love all the folds and little details like the twisted strap on the right.

They are the definition of simple yet stylish. Perfect for the effortlessly chic look.

Seriously, it may not look to interesting on the rack, but it feels and looks fabulous on person. So go out and try it on for yourselves!

Do you know if there is a size guide available for the outfits on the website...? I couldn't see one, sorry :( it's just that in some stores I wear a small and in others I wear a medium. Also, are those clothes only available in stores in the US?

I checked out that www.fashionways.com. Pretty hot. I'm an Agent Provocateur fan myself. That was a hot video of the runway show! Did it really get banned from MSN Video???

Ooh..I can imagine the feel of the outfits, just from your description!

The pieces look totally wearable, and hv a gorgeous fit.

Unfortunately, I've never come across the brand in Asia, or at least the part of Asia I'm in. :( But actually, just looking at the designs alone, they do remind me of the stuff you can get at Forever 21, although I'm sure the quality at Forever 21 isn't even close to half as good.

My friend raves about Velvet all the time - sexy and comfortable. You should try ActiveEndeavors.com if you want to find other Velvet pieces. :) They have a nice selection as well.

anon1: its pretty pricey and can range from $30-200USD.

BG: the fabric of the clothes is not velvet but mostly cotton. the brand is called Velvet.

anon4: sizes differ from brand to brand, so its best if you looked for the sizecharts on the websites. And no, Velvet clothes are not just limited to the US, I've seen it sold in UK and HK.

calarina: maybe you can try stores that sells a mixture of brands. I've seen it in many places in HK.

dailyobsession: thanks so much for the site!
