The Wolford Fatal Dress

I've always related Wolford to super expensive hoisery for older women. The other day however, I found out that I was only half right. Yes they are super expensive, but they are not neccessarily just hoisery for older women.

They also make this genius creation called the Fatal Dress. It is basically a seamless tube that is long and stretchy, but it is so chic and versatile it is a wonder its not all over the place by now. This stretchy tube can be worn as a long tube dress with stregically placed creases to enhance and hide your best body features and to just provide texture and style to the dress. Although despite all the strategic creases, this dress is still VERY body hugging. So you really have to love your body to wear it.

It can be stretched all out and long like in the picture or it can be scrunched up into a sexy body hugging mini dress. They also showed up how to fold the top down a bit to create a twist around the bodice. This dress is also marvellous for travelling, as you can just fold the dress down into two layers and create a pencil skirt. Thats already 4 different ways to wear this dress, just imagine the potential!

But here's the catch: this amazingly versatile and femme fatale dress costs $150. But it all depends on the way you look at it. If you like the whole body hugging and pencil skirt silohuette thing, it can be a bargain as it saves luggage space and can potentially create many different looks. And if you don't like the pencil skirt thing, I did spy an A line skirt version of this. OR it can be a rip off because in the end it IS just a piece of long stretch tube. Your choice!

It´s definitely an amazing dress, but you´ve choosen a very diplomativ way. "....Really have to love your body" :)
I don´t think anyone can wear this unless she has a very flat belly.

Hey there, Harrods Girl and Barneys Girl,

I have a shoe problem that I think only you can help me with. I need boots. (Well.... not need, exactly... I suppose "desperately wanting" is the better phrase. Such is the case for hopeless shoe addicts such as ourselves. *wink*) Not (God forbid) Mukluks or Uggs, not flat soled, and definitely not too pricey. I live in the U.S. (Seattle, Washington, to be exact), and so far have not been able to find high quality under $70. I know great boots are hard to come by, much less great boots under a (rather sad) $70, but I'm a teenage girl on a tight budget! However, if they are truly beautiful and aren't pushing $100... I could *possibly* accomodate that. =) My shoe size is a 7.5 to an 8, depending on the brand.

Please, I'd love to see a gorgeous pair of black or dark brown pointed toe boots with a 3 to a 4 inch heel. Preferably knee length, or at least mid calf. Ankle boots are my demise. Stiletto heel, not chunky or wedged. I would also prefer if they were plain leather, no odd embellishments or chains draped across. No buckles, just a zip-up side. In short, a classic, black boot.

Also, it would be better if they were available in store, since I don't want to end up with the shoe that doesn't fit, since I wasn't able to try it on.

Here are two examples,
1.
Charles by Charles David Knack.

These gorgeous boots I found on Zappos, and are $213.95 (on sale! T_T). These are exactly what I'm looking for... but possibly cut the price by about 75%.

2.
Baby Phat Knee Boot.
http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/3078736/c/3/g/women/s/6.html
These are also good, with a 3 1/2 inch heel (the Charles boots are a 3 inch), but they're plasticky. Not to mention, from Baby Phat. Wearing them seems tacky.

I read your blog every day, it's been one of my favourites since... oh, the day it debuted (really!)! Your blog is one of my more trusted fashion advisors, and I'd love to see what you come up with. After all, you two are the shopping experts. *wink* I hope you can help me out... please? Take your time, I'm not in a particular hurry... But an answer would be nice. =)

Thanks SO much! I love what you've done for I Am Fashion!! Keep up the great work!

I have a BIG request for you two: I really loved at the end of last year when you posted your favorite fashion editorials. Could you do some more postings like that? Because those editorials have become a couple of my favorites, especially of one of Lily Donaldson as a mannequin. That was pretty genius.

Didn't Donna Karan designed sth like this in the late 80's? A flexible dress that can be worn long/short.

I have this dress in black and eggplant, and you are definitely right that you have to love your body to wear it. I haven't had the heart to put it on since college. :: sigh ::

One thing i don't understand is why do women HATE pantyhose so much. Over the summer I see women that absolutely do not take care of there legs and am totally turned off by the fact of bruised up or unpleasing legs it makes no difference if she is wearing the TUBE you mentioned above. Most men love covered legs wether it be tights or pantyhose. Wolford Fatal pantyhose are the top of the line pantyhose and do to the legs what a beautiful dress does to the body. (sorry for my mistakes...I am French)
