Luella Bartley for Target

So the latest designer collection at an affordable price, Luella for Target just came out last week. And compared to this trends predecessors, I don't think it is fairing very well. To begin with of course, Target is very different from H&M. One is a high street trendy fashion chain store and one is well. . Target. Secondly, it always helps that something is "limited edition." which this collection isn't. Lastly, looking at the collection, despite being designed by a designer, it is just not very inspiring. So lets take a look.

Please do not wear this dress out in public. It may look cool right now in this picture, because its been plastered all over the place. But absolutely everyone will know where its from. And isn't the purpose of this collection to look like a million bucks at an affordable price? Also because I simply do not like this dress. It seems like it is trying to be punk and girly at the same time.

This outfit is without a doubt Luella Bartley. The fruity skirt and the printed shirt. But again, if someone wore that on the streets, I would recognize it instantly as Luella for Target, because as we know. And the skirt on its own would just look. . very candy girl cheap. Maybe the shirt though. . .

I don't know what this is. It looks like the mannequin is wearing diapers.

This is by far my one favourite piece, which I think actually achieves the purpose of the collection. Its interesting, wearable, perfect for the coming season AND ony $14.99!

I agree... some of the pieces are pretty off the wall. But I like the idea of high fashion for modest prices. Although... why Target?

oh but you forgot the duffel bag with the apple on it. very very perfect for summer. and the white and pink basic tee shirts, but there's a zipper and a pouf sleeve. and cute shirt. I think that this collection is directed towards a more youthful group, rather than Mizrahi's which was more classic and basic.

Not bad. I agree about the grey skirt. bleh.

To me it almost did not seem like high fashion. More like stuff Target would have carried anyway (silly elementary school colors and broad, basic, all-over patterns on various versions of cotton fabrics), only now it just has the cache of being "Luella." Not a fan, not a fan am I!

If you're a person with absolutely no ability to mix and match(which I really pity you for, you're missing out on fashion and looking good)--then yes, Luella@Target is so not for you.

But for those of us who at least possess some ability to personalize our own clothing(see, wear the clothes, don't let the clothe's wear YOU) then Luella is a real big bloody treat.

The green dress is beauutiful. They just did a bad job of matching it in the picture with that cheap ugly blazer and cheap ugly boots.

Yeah, I actually went to Target to check it out. It is definitely no Stella McCartney at H&M! The fabric and the cut is also no good. The only thing that I found genuinely cool was the cherry ipod case

Agreed on the green plaid dress, but I thought the black strapless was cute, and a little less noticable as LB for Target. I love the necklaces, too.

I have to agree with the comment that said it looks just like Target stuff only with the name "Luella". Yuck. That necklace is purty though if the quality and feel works. I'd rather go without a scratchy necklace!

I went out and bought the green dress in a black and light pink polka dot print. It fits me like it was made for me, and looks great with pearls. At forty dollars, it sure beat all the expensive poufy tulle and marshmallow crap my schoolmates are wearing to prom. Plus, it's identical to some Jessica McClintock thing I tried on at the mall that was $180.

I’ve seen that this charity auction website has got Disney ‘Mickey Ears’ up for auction designed by Luella to help raise money for charity. The Mickey Ears are being exhibited in Brix Smith-Start’s boutique START, London. Here’s the link if anyone wants a look,

It won't succeed as a matter of fact, that's exactly what I think.
