Prada Vernice Sfumata Pump
Prada's accessories are always one of the first brands I look at in style.com's accessories preview. Afterall, Prada's accessories are always the sales force behind the brand and they're usually copied by all the other high street brands (thus Prada's accessories almost always form part of the new trends.)
The first time I saw this season's Prada's shoes, I thought err... I hated the gradient colour theme (more so for certain colours like green and black than others,) and I wasn't really into the whole leg-warmers-with-heels trend because realistically, I'm not going to even try that. But when I was wondering around Barneys in LA, I couldn't resist trying on a pair of one of Prada's FW07 runway shoes, the Vernice Sfumata Pump, which to us normal people, are commonly known as the gradient-coloured pumps. So I tried them on and wow, I loved them! I instantly felt like I was sucked into the world of artistic, intellectually glam world of Prada. I especially liked the thick, black, elastic strap in the front. I was wearing a flowery skirt that day so it didn't really match my outfit but I imagine it would look absolutely amazing with black pants -modern, sleek and creative. Sigh, now I'll probably spend the next few months admiring these shoes online everyweek.

i can also imagine this shoe looking fabulous with skinny black pants or dark coloured skirt.
were they comfortable shoes? they actually look like they would be comfortable heels.
They do look really comfortable, which is usually the case with this brand; the coulor depth is great.
the prada footless socks seem to be something to try?
the shoes are really bold; quite chunky. i can see them looking great in lots of different outift combinations.

I absolutely adore the ad! Colorful, cool- and I love the feathers. The shoes look really fashionable too :)
Designer shoes are amazing to try on. You look at them and think "interesting idea, but not quite ready-to-wear enough for me", then you slip them on your feet and see why they're $400+! There's nothing like it.
the footsocks - no. I can see what you mean about the shoes though, a bit of a 1950's flare.
This is my first visit to your blog, it's very fun.
I just think that whole collection is gorgeous. They have inspired me to try out a whole load of things with colour!
i agree... love prada's FW collection! and the ads......
I'm not sure how I feel about the smoky, or sfumata effect of the shoes...it reminds me of italian painting techniques for illusional depth. On a shoe it seems kind of like something I wore when I was in the fifth grade and was wearing very cheap supermarket shoes. However, I'm surprised by how comfortable these look.
like gong through your blog, even though i know nothing of fashhion
I love the heels! Looks like you're gonna fall backwards any minute though. A beautiful shoe anyway, very nice color, I think.

Hey, love the blog and adore the shoes. Heard there was a waiting list, we can but dream...The socks are great though and I'd love to see what they look like with other shoes - only 50 pounds too, so not so much of a dream...! Cris x
so glad you took the leap,
my friend evelyn and i were in the flagship prada two weeks ago and i made her try the exact shoe on.
i had to rip the consecutive three pairs from her cold steely grasp she was so enamored.
now be careful. there are bags equally as gorgeous in the same line. . .
is it just me coz i think those shoes are ridiculously ugly!!!
Love the shoe!

i dun think it's ugly... just weird.. a lot of. :)
at first i thought it was too chunky, but now that i think about it, i think it would look great with cigarette pants and a billowy top.

LOVE the collection. the shoes are so modern and a great combo with the footless socks!!
I don't know... I'm not a big fan of open-toes shoes for FW seasons... As much as I think I would like the design... They aren't very useful especially with the cold European falls... Oh well. Another design will just go on the 'pretty but not for me' list
I love this blog.
I agree with you - I probably would never do the the leg warmers with shoes look, which I saw all over the new issue of Vogue, but I did see these shoes and thought they were super cute. Its a modern twist to the classic Mary Jane.
my girlfriend would love that.
Sorry, but I have to say...they look boring. Really boring. Nothing new. Just because it´s Prada...so what?
I love the underslung heel. I've seen it on a lot of shoes, just none that I can afford. By the way, is there a better name for the curved heel, besides underslung??? I would love if it had a more memorable name, so I could google an affordable pair. :)
Also why is it that the plain photo does not seem to show the heel the same way as in the advertisement. Is that a camera trick then?
wow very nice blog. Its really worth for me...I saved around 10$ back to my pocket..... This reebok shoes i cant find it much cheaper..
They have similar ones at NineWest, but of course they don't meet up to the beauty of Prada..they are gorgeous!
They are gorgeous ...they come with a bag which is also Gorgeous
