Shiseido Maquillage Neo Climax Lip

A year ago, I've decided to abstain from buying any lip-related makeup products because I hardly ever apply anything other than lip balm on my lips -lipstick always seems too mature to me and lip gloss never seems to stays put for more than 15 minutes. (Anyone else feels the same?) But while I was waiting for the makeup lady at a Shiseido shop to try on eyeshadow on my mum, I got bored and looked at the new products. I very quickly noticed Shiseido's younger line, Maquillage's ad. I absolutely love this look, especially as a night look. Doesn't the model look so sophisticated, cool and pretty?
The product that really caught my eye was the new 'Neo Climax Lip', which is described by the saleslady as an in-between of lipstick and lipgloss. She suggested I try on the colour that the model had on. I did that and loved it! Like the ad suggested, it wasn't overly sparkly, and gave a cool, glossy finish to my lips. Unlike the lip glosses (too sheer) or lipsticks (too strong) that I own, this product actually gave my lips a perfect amount of colour.
You know how you get to an age where you feel like you're in-between for everything? Too young for certain things and too old for others? I want some lip colour that will stay on but I'm not ready for lipstick yet. So basically, I consider this a more sophisticated-looking version of lipgloss. On the Maquillage site, there's this image which shows how you apply this product (-which is simply how you apply all other similar lip products.) So do check out the Neo Climax Lip when you pass by a Shiseido counter next time!

i am such a sucker for lip stuff. the other day i nearly bought yet another gloss, identical to the others i own but don't use, and then forced myself to put it back. probably too tacky feeling anyway. i tend to prefer a sheer lipstick to a gloss because of that sticky-tackiness. was this shiseido product sticky?

i always have like 5 lip products in my handbag.. the one i use most is my strawberry nivea lip balm (it is the best moisturizer ever, it gives a natural health color). other than that i have natural colored sheer lipsticks, and a few glosses.. so here is what i do: i always wear my nivea one as a base, and then i just tap my lips with the lipstick, this way the color is very sheer and natural.. and then i apply gloss to only the curves on the top of my upper lips, and as a tiny tap on the middle of my lower lip. i achieve a very natural, lip enhancing look by this.. if i feel like extra volume, i outline the upper curve with nude colored eye-pencil! believe me it's invisible but amazing..

The model looks so pretty! I think I'm more interested in the smokey-eye effect she has on, it's really hard for oriental people to pull that look off without looking like they got beat up (ugh), but she looks great.

For my lips, I had a CRAZY lipgloss faze, which was like buying every lipgloss I saw. I have about 35ish lying around, some I've never used/used once. :( I'm a bit more controlled now. I use my Burts Bee or Blixtex mint medicated lip balms all over the place, and when I go out, I first moisturize with lip balm, and apply a neutral-shaded lipstick (pinkish-coralish-nudeish) and then brush in a clear slightly shimmer lipgloss. I think it gives it an in between look, not too I-WEAR-LIPSTICK baldness, or too lipgloss look, if you know what I mean.

As euphoricvix said, is it only in Asia? Any idea when it's going to expand to N America? My mother goes to Shiseido often, so next time I'll go with her.

I have the same problem as you: lipstick-too strong, lip gloss-to sheer...you really got me interested in this one. Wonder if it would work good for me, and if it is available in Europe.

The model for the Shisheido ad is Yuri Ebihara. She is really pretty! I find that the only lip gloss that stays on the longest is L'Oreal's colour juice in clear. I love it!

I'm also loving Giorgio Armani's new Leather Collection for fall. Best splurge makeup in my book: http://www.topbutton.com/Blog/default.aspx?Category=Beauty

I agree, lipgloss does not last over 15 minutes for me ! What color lipgloss does the model have on? ... I think its really cute! It seems like something perfect for school.

personally, even though im 19, i find most lipgloss aimed at my age group to be too sticky. so i've moved on to lipsticks. the juicy rouge lipsticks are fabulous - they stay on for a long time but come in youthful sparkly tones. i also find chanel lipstick to last.

however, i put a light layer of papau ointment over the top of the lipstick. you get a beautiful colour with a bit of shine, it lasts on your lips and you hydrate your lips at the same time. perfect!

This lipstick looks really pretty. But I think, unfortunately it’s not sold in Germany yet.

I usually use organic lip balm from Lavera. (I really love all organic products from Lavera.)
And my lipstick is from Clinique ‘colour surge bare brilliance lipstick’ in precious pink. It’s very natural, with a little shimmer and sparkle. Just perfect for University or shopping.

if any of you are looking for a similar product that's more widely available, i would check out benefit's silky-finish lipstick, especially in "jing a ling"

you can read about it here: http://www.bonbonsinthebath.com/2007/04/19/benefits-love-your-look/

it's jing a ling on the model, isn't it gorgeous?

one more thing i forgot.. if you're having problems with lipgloss staying on, they're a little more pricey but try chanel glossimers. also awake (widely available in asia) makes glosses that DO NOT COME OFF! but they look beautiful and don't make your lips uncomfortable. i seriously have to scrub or use makeup remover to get rid of it!

Ohhhhhh! I may have to buy some of that! I hate regular lipstick and glosses are too, I don't know...glossy! Sticky, too.

ahh lipglosses are too glossy! i know how people always want fuller lips but the whole glossy thing makes my lips too full :/ i usually put on some lipbalm, put on lipstick lightly on my lower lip and ehm 'blend' it over the rest.

i just turned 19 now, going to the uni too, definitely some things are too mature for me since i'm just going to classes. i'll just keep it casual with a few officier(?) pieces i might have to wear occasionally.

That lip gloss/stick sounds incredible! I like lipgloss, but its always too sticky and doenst stay put, and then lipstick is just too mature for me, and way to bold/strong. This lip gloss/stick sounds so perfect!

Great blog.

This product looks like the perfect fit. You're absolutely right that there's a generation gap when it comes to cosmetics. And at 31, I feel like I'm in between the gloss-set and the lipstick-set.

It's a constant war whenever I see my mother, who always complains that I 'wear lipstick/gloss in such a way that it doesn't look like I am.' I take that as a compliment. She sees that as a moral failing.

I think it's useless to explain to women over a certain age that the point of wearing makeup is to hide the blemishes (the zits, the bags under the eyes) and play up your best features. Older women seem to have an 'all or nothing' view about makeup- they either go out, with nothing on their face, not even moisturizer or sunblock, or they go the full Kabuki. They seem to think that the point of wearing makeup is to announce to the world, "Hi! I'm wearing makeup!! This way to the Big Top! See our great trapeze act!!"

when i notice my lips dry i have to find a solution soon like to wear a lips balm, because my lips can lose the smoothness, even the natural colour because of the dead skin or dry and try to keep my skin young always.
This is very important for a woman who want to be sexy. So i always recomend to
buy viagra to the men who i go out.
