EBay Store: Trendy Outfitter

I'd like to begin by saying that I have no experience with EBay at all and that I have no idea how this EBay store works, so I make no quality guarantees about what I am about to expound on. But from all accounts and the many reviews this seller has had, it does look pretty reliable and should I ever decide to start using EBay, I think I'd start with this store. So, what made me suddenly so interested in Ebay? The Trendy Outfitter store! They sell trendy Japanese and Korean inspired apparel worldwide (they apparently ship from Taiwan, so I'm not too sure where the products originate).
But anyway, onto the fashion. This was the coat that caught my attention. When my friend first showed me, I was like, OMG I want that coat! And when I saw the price- I wanted it even more! Who can resist a gorgeous wool blend coat for $25? That, you see is the beauty of this site. I don't know why it is so cheap, but nothing you see on list is more than $30. The catch, we soon discovered, was that the delivery is the same price as the coat. But still, that makes it $50... still not too bad. As to the quality... well, you can't expect too much at that price. So I guess expect H&M quality? From the reviews, most customers seemed happy with their purchases....
More pretty coats. I'll take these two as well please.
And I absolutely LOVE this cardigan. Its so chic and girly. The perfect fashion item.
This will look soo cute on me! And you really can't go wrong with the fit of such a simple dress.
A perfectly simple sweater dress.
And I LOVE this sweater (though I'd like one in black/white). Its so simple yet trendy with the genie sleeves and the fancy turtleneck. Did I mentioned everything is priced below $30?

Personally, I am still a bit iffy about buying anything on Shopbop, let alone EBay. Especially here, there are the questions of: Why is it so cheap? Where do these clothes come from? Are they a copy of these pictures we see or the actual thing? How is the quality and fit? Is this store reliable? What do you think readers? Anyone have experience with Ebay stores?

Nevertheless, don't all these images just make you want to go to Korea or wherever these clothes originate from and have a super shopping spree? I know I do!

i too am korean and ive seen such clothing on sites then saw them in stores (mind you, theyre not very high end stores for sure) and ive concluded that one should probably only buy these clothing if they were as thin as the models...

i was contemplating on buying something before, saw it in store, and was like "no way am i buying this, even for X price"
but then again, im no stick skinny person, so that changed a lot of things...

but those pictures really are pretty, arent they??
i want that sweater coat and the first wool coat you posted...

Stupid question: have you visited their website(www.trendyoutfitter.com/)? They say their products are from Japan and Korea. So quality may not be too bad... Please keep us informed if you buy from them. Thanks!

Actually they are very overpriced, and overcharging the shipping totally!

The items come from Taiwan, and if you visit taiwan auction site, you will see that the items are like 1/2 of the price in that ebay site!

You may want to try www.je551.com.
The stuffs are totally the same at a much cheaper price!

Heyo it's my first time leaving a comment here but it's something I know.

I have been spreeing online sites in Singapore for sometime. Although the pictures show korean words, they might be from Taiwanese sites. Why? Because I've studied Korean for sometime and I'm chinese so yea, I can read those Taiwanese webbies. Those from Korean websites are relatively more reliable, taiwanese suppliers can be very unreliable, it can take up to 2 months for an order to get through and a lot of emails to them.

Korean stuff are pretty. ^^ However unless they are from high end stores, I think the quality is so-so, not really great. But it is cheap. =) I cant wait to go back to shop next summer.

Quality is good enough for warmer days. They certainly would never stand up to winter and colder fall weather, but they're good enough for days when it's just windy and you feel like wearing a coat. haha. I bought one of these coats on a trip to korea just a few months ago and i've gotten a lot of use out of it. So far it hasn't shown any wear and tear. Hope you have as much luck on your purchases as I did. =)

omg those are so beautiful! they're like my dream pieces for the season! unfortunately i live in istanbul, turkey, and ordering abroad is always a problem because i can never know whats going to pass through customs and whats not. it's possible that i may have to pay double that price if my items get stuck at the customs.

anyways, if you're going to order from ebay, make sure you read all the small text, and read all the feedback, because i read on Glamour that someone paid 250 british pounds for a picture of a chloe bag, thinking she was buying the actual bag. She failed to read the small text!

as far as i can see, they have perfect feedback.. you can just give 1 order, with $50 you wont have much to lose, and if you like it you sure have a lot to gain. i dont know if there's another place on earth where you can get such pretty stuff for so cheap.

i am asian and as far as i know from shopping in these countries, you would normally get a below average quality, unless it is from high-end stores and established clothing franchises.

basically since they have such low prices - i would be very wary and i might think that these are just local market quality.

I wonder if they'd have anything that fit a US size 4 and above... I can't fit into most Korean clothes, even though I'm a size S here in the US. It's b/c I happen to HAVE thighs and size B boobage.

That ruffled coat is adorable but I know I won't pull it off.

BTW, as far as quality goes

for all of the clothes i've purchased from korean vendors - even the nameless booth ones - the quality has always been decent

i still have my wool coat i bought from a small shop in seoul over 5 years ago for around that price

I actually bid and won a coat just like the first picture only in blue from these people- I LOVE it, its beautiful and quality is great.

Order a size up though, they run a bit small.

hmmm, this is all from personal experience. Buying anything on the intenet is of course iffy, due to sizes and photoshop.
I'm assuming the sites that you wrote about here, are Korean (cos of the Korean writing) and as to why it's so cheap? Well the quality is either so and so are really really thin and bad quality and shrink in the wash.
The sizes in Korea run really small so make sure to take a bigger size.
Most of the time the pictures are really taken artisitcally or photoshop-ed to look better than they are.
But then considering the trend in 'fast-fashion' that is occurring in Korea at the moment, there are lots of buyers who are willing to buy the latest trends at a fraction of the price yet sacrificing quality for quantity par say.

I only do ebay for brand names. These stuff from korean/taiwan are really crap. They post pictures of the better quality stuff (think higher-end local korean designers) and the taiwan factory actually does a copy of it. The copies are of very poor quality, and not very tasteful in my opinion. It is much lower-end than forever21 and H&M! So I suggest you shouldn't even go near there. Oh and the shipping is way to expensive and takes very long for the preorder to arrive. in short, crap!

I am a Chinese and I've gotten stuff from ebay off different seller but with the same supplier i guess (because they have the same items like what you've posted). And the items they sell are copies from the pictures, not the actual thing. They are different quality, fit and material wise. I bought these tops off ebay which they claimed are from korea/taiwan/japan and they were a total let down because the material and the design were totally different from what were shown in the pics. So my advise is if you ever wanted to get anything off ebay, go for the basics. The dressier ones will let you down totally. Hmm..on a second thought, do not get anything online unless they provide you with pictures of the actual products =)

yes i agree with the above anonymous poster. these are just copies maybe about 80-90% likeness to the pictures. the pictures are probably korean clothing, but the actual piece you are buying comes from a factory in taiwan/hongkong/china and is only a copy.

so pls beware...try not to buy those that are too fancy looking you will be disappointed at the quality. simple cotton dresses or blouses might be okay.

I go to Taiwan a lot and the shopping there is great because it's so cheap (usually $6-15) for stuff made in Taiwan that you buy from the street market. however the quality isn't great so if you order stuff from this website and it's made in taiwan i wouldn't have high expectations. Korean stuff and japanese stuff is MUCH better quality but pricier, even in taiwan I pay $30-50 for clothes from Korean. If the site is claiming it's from korea and selling it for less than that I would be wary.

i also want to add something, i'm from Turkey as i said before, and Turkey is one of those manufactuaring countries, meaning we are doing mass production for well-known us and europe brands. this means that the excess garments of production which are not shipped abroad remain in Turkey, and are sold for ridiculously low prices in local street bazaars or small shops who get their supplies directly from the factories. these garments are completely authentic, but sometimes have small flaws. as you can see the most luxurious and expensive high street brands are all tagged "made in turkey", "made in china", or "made in taiwan".. i got a nice pair of abercrombie & fitch jeans for like $5 years ago, and i still wear and get compliments with it. my point is that the prices being love doesn't necessarily mean the quality is bad, especially in countries that production rates are really cheap.. the salary of a factory worker in taiwan is something like 5% of a factory worker in france..

I am Korean, and anyone who has gone to Korea knows that the shopping there is really cheap. A bit more expensive than you would pay in HK, but the quality is better too. These prices are low because when the clothes are initially bought in Korea, they are even cheaper than these so that is where they make their profit. Tops in Korea usually sell for about 5000 won, which is about $6 in CAD or USD. so for selling it at 20-30 dollars plus shipping gives them a huge profit. The quality is pretty good in Korean clothes, I've been to Japan as well and have actually found the quality in most non brand name Korean clothes better than Japanese. The price is a lot higher than you would pay in Asia, but still a lot cheaper than flying to Asia yourself. There's also an Asian Mall close to my home that sells a lot of these types of clothes as well. Their prices are pretty similar to these ones too. Hope that was helpful to someone.

I wouldn't recommend buying from ebay shops. I mean, sure, it's wearable, but would it last for a long time? It's like Forever 21 clothes, except if you order from H&M or Forever 21, the shipping costs would probably be much lower.

I agree with everything. If you buy anything though, buy it at least one size larger if not two sizes larger. Koreans, Chinese, Japanese bodies tend to be much smaller than americans and the length of the sleeves are far too short

I love all the coats! I'm not a fan of sweater dresses, cause they look shapeless and cheap very often. Plus, you have to wear them with thighs (if you don't wanna look tacky) so you'll freeze your ass off. But I love the pink sweater.
The only thing that looked ridiculous is the cardigan. Adorable, but it belongs in the costume section!

I bought the ruffled cardigan from trendyoutfitter.com after looking at this site. WARNING: DO NOT BUY FROM THE STORE UNLESS YOU DO NOT MIND GETTING DISAPPOINTED. The material is terrible- completely unlike what is shown in the pictures. And to make things worse, it was missing not only 1 button, but one strap to button the cardigan with. And the straps look terrible too. Also, it takes ages for the clothes to actually come. If you need anything to reinforce your doubts look at the return policy. They've obviously sent out lots of defective and low quality items.

Dear,
The products that sold by trendyoutfitter are really good. I am not saying it because I like the seller and her products, but because I have been shopping with them for a long time. They have both high-priced products and low-priced products that you can choose. Of course, if you choose those cheap products, you can't expect that much. On the other hand, their high-priced products are really fantastic. Besides, the clothing that I purchased there always suprised my friends and relatives. They would keep asking me why I dress up so beautifully today!Above all, unlike those Gap, Banana Republic or A&F, you will seldom see someone wearing the same clothes as you if you wear their items out.Lastly, I want to mention that the site that someone mention here:www.je551.comPlease never purchase any items from them. Although their price is cheap, the quality is really, really bad. They just have the same pictures as those shown in trendyoutfitter, but for sure, when you get the items, you will cry! As I have such experience of ordering many pieces from them, those pieces are also shown in trendyoutfitter, but much cheaper. However, when I got them, I don't know how I can wear them. I am size zero, but still, many of their items are not in proportion, extremely small, or with the waist 22! I can't even give them to my teenage girl to wear. Those are all the copycats from China, pictures are the same as trendyoutfitter, but surely, their quality is very, very bad!Hope all of you have happy shopping experience!
