Paul and Joe Boots

I know that the main focus of a lookbook of a fashion collection is the clothes, but upon looking at Paul & Joe's latest lookbook, I could not help but stare in fixated horror at the model's feet. Maybe I am just not fashion forward enough, but upon seeing these boots (almost everywhere in the lookbook) all I can think of is ugh!
Maybe in a few months (or even weeks) time, I will find them cute and want a pair. Who knows how fashion evolution works? I mean, without the slouchy thing, the shape of the pointy toe is perfectly rounded and the heels look just right. But right now ,at this moment, the slouchy thing (which I assume is the CENTER of the design) just makes models look like they have swollen ankles to me- and that is never attractive.
I tried looking at them from different angles, but still- nothing. Maybe it is also the awkward height of the boots as well, making them not quite ankle boots but not quite tall boots either. Only a model with super long legs like that can carry it off (I should know since I stupidly bought a pair of such awkward height boots last season and I am still trying to figure out how to wear them....) without looking short with their legs sectioned off like that.
So what is the verdict for these $825 Peper Suede Paper Bag booties? Fashion forward? Or should it be stuffed into a paper bag?

I won't go so far as to stuff it into a paper bag, but something along those lines. And I'm not sure who the stylist for the lookbook is but to me, the boots makes an otherwise succinct look quite awkward.

The only look that sort of worked is the last one...

It's not just you! I completely agree! Those boots are HIDEOUS! The picture with them by themselves looks okay, but on the models *puke.

They're alright. I think they would look better in black or gray.

they are the kind of boots that some silly celebrity willwaer, and when we see the photos in 10 years... we will all laugh... because that looked that stupid.

my verdict is into the paper bags, its about what they deserve

i actually think they are pretty nice.
they give boots a new twist and add character to the overall look.
though i think they'll look nicer in grey.

i like the color, and the toe and heel like u said, even the height could work on regular slouchy boots, but they just make me want to put tiny belts around them to actually see ankles!

They're funky when looked at by themselves, but I cannot imagine any person, wearing any outfit that would work with those boots and be flattering.

Bag 'em, and also that god-awful light grey sweatshirt-material jumpsuit.

Appalling.

I like the boot without the paper bag attatchment. Unless it's for storing your lunch in or something.

I really like them. Although I don't think tan is the best color.

If i wouldn't live in place where at winter there is at least -10 C and 15cm of snow those shoes don't really seem practical. Nor pretty.

ugh, I'd say stuffed into a paper bag. I can't say anything good about them. They just take all the attention of the clothes, and actually make them look worse.

I was wondering if we'd exchange links. I've already linked you, hope it's okay!

The boots aren't too bad but you wouldn't see me wearing them.

Your blog is great, love it.

Those boots are hardly flattering on the tall tiny models with long legs how would they ever look good on anyone else! The bottom of the boot is cute but the rest not very flattering it's like they have no ankles at all!

Wow. All of these clothes are surprisingly UGLY and UNFLATTERING. Boots included. Awful collection. And 825$ for shoes that look like grocery store paper bags with heels? Crazy!

Well, paired with the clothing shown I definitely would not wear them. But, if worn with clothes that have some color I think they look fine. The main reason they are so unattractive is the pale blonde hair, pale white skin, and pale beige/pink/grey clothing of the models. The purple puffy shirt gives a breath of fresh air, but that is immediately stifled by that burlap sack (?) the model is wearing. It's just too frumpy, too dingy, too reminiscent of a New York hobo.

If I were left to choosing the clothes, I would probably pick the following items:

- high-waisted knee-length deep purple a-line skirt with tight pleats [and perhaps a lace overlay of the same color]

- sleeveless high-neck frill-front top made of sheer green polyester

- diamond shaped wooden fishhook earrings with light orange engravings

But, that's probably just my inner Ashlander escaping again. :] [Ashland, Oregon is one of the funkiest towns I have ever been to. It's absolutely amazing and wonderfully weird. I love it.]

In the event that the mix of cash your family needs to back you and any stipends or grants in addition to whatever you can set aside a few minutes work won't be sufficient, then fortunately there are a lot of understudy advance choices accessible to help you. https://www.usacheckcashingstore.com/corona

Another preferred standpoint of the union of understudy advance obligation while still in school is that you can maintain a strategic distance from any increments in intrigue. In July 2006, financing costs for government understudy credits climbed forcefully. There is nothing that keeps this sort of visits that happen by and by. https://www.usacheckcashingstore.com/corona
