Blackwell's 2007 Worst-Dressed List
In the past I've usually blogged about Blackwell's annual Worst Dressed List, (see last year's post here.) But this year while reading the list, I've come to realise that I didn't have a lot of insults in mind for the worse-dressed people. Now don't get me wrong, I don't actually like the style of most people on Blackwell's list. It's just that I've now come to learn to just skip past the pictures of poorly-dressed celebrities (or the celebrities whose style just isn't similar to mine,) and stare at the well-dressed celebrities. Perhaps I have learnt to use my time more efficiently or have grown up?
Anyways, here's the list.
1. Victoria Beckham -While I am no fan of hers, I do admire she has the confidence to wear the clothes that she wears. And while her style is very different from mine, I certainly don't think she's the worst-dressed in 2007.
2. Amy Winehouse -I suppose I do agree with this one. Not only is she poorly dressed, but her hairstyle is just disastrous!
3. Mary Kate Olsen -OK, even though as an MKA fan I am totally biased, I do admit I didn't like some of the outfits MK wore in 2007. But I really don't think one should ignore her better outfits and declare her worst-dressed.4. Fergie -Huh. I usually just skip looking at her outfits in gossip sites.
5. Kelly Clarkson -Skip again. Plus we obviously care more about her singing than her outfits.
6. Eva Green -Do we even know what she normally wears?
7. Avril Lavigne -OK, so I didn't like some of her outfits. And I really don't like her 2007 pink hairdo. But I chalk it all as part of her marketing and image.
8. Jessica Simpson -I'm definitely not a fan of Jessica Simpson, although hasn't her style improved in 2007? Wait, I actually can't recall any of the outfits she wore in 2007. I obviously don't care much for her style.
9. Lindsay Lohan -I really don't think her style is bad. For Lindsay, 2007 was all about the leggings, so I guess it all depends how much you like leggings yourself.
10. Alison Arngrim -Uh, who? Why bother listing someone who isn't stalked by the paparazzis anyway?
And maybe it's because I'm still in my early-20's but I don't find people named in Blackwell's Fabulous Fashion Independent List really fashion-inspiring either. Btw, they are Reese Witherspoon, Jemima Khan, Beyonce, Angelina Jolie, Helen Mirren, Nicole Kidman, Katie Holmes, Kate Middleton, Katherine Heigl and Cate Blanchett. Seriously, Beyonce and Katherine Heigl?

Oh yeah. I never understand his lists. Who cares what he thinks anyway. What does HE wear?
Who in the world is Blackwell and why am I only hearing about him this year? I think his choices are crap with absolutely no thought put into them... he could have chosen way worse.
Well, I have to say, the list isn´t totally wrong.

I don't see why Lindsay Lohan and Victoria is on the list as well.
I have to say I no longer put too much thought into all these lists- I grown to the point where celebrity names dont make too big an impression on me. And anyway, it's like all Blackwell want to do is find repeat offenders and I think that often cause bias, such as in MK's case.
Why isn't Britney Spears on the list?

I'm on board with the rest of you; much of this list seems hardly worth the sniping. (Except for Winehouse, whose current iteration I find nearly diseased.)
It's because he felt that it was a rough time for Britney.

Yeah, I agree... these lists always seem fabricated, because I'm sure there were people who dressed worse than Victoria this year.
I do have to say I was a tad bit obsessed with Kate Middleton's fashion choices this year, so I think she was a good pic.
omg, i allways love the blackwell list! but Vic as number 1, si just wrong. I love her style. And i do agree with the topic of Brit, she dosent need more crap! And why Beyonce? she has the Diva style and it suits her.. im not impressed this year with the list, and ps, MK dose NOT deserve to be a 3rd. in my opinion she has had a good year.
the ppl on his best dressed list sure look good, but they are hardly what I'd call innovative and stylish, they just look put-together and basic. except nicole kidman and cate blanchett maybe, but they're all about the red carpet. the worst dressed list, I completely agree with you except avril lavigne; she DOES dress ugly.
and why isn't kate moss in either of these lists? someone who's style is still as iconic as hers deserves a mention.
oh btw i think katherine heigl's style is so boring that she deserves the worst dress list due to extreme boringness and screwing up her natural beauty.

Yeah who is this Blackwell guy anyway???? I would like to see what he wears...who knows somedays he might make his own list. : )

I REALLY hate Avril Lavigne's sense of "style". I mean it was cute (and even THAT was questionable) back back back then when she was like, eighteen, but she's married now for crying out loud! Everything about her screams kitsch.
and I agree with you, I quite like Lindsay Lohan's....sometimes. She does seem quite fashion forward, though.

however, i do consider eva green as a fashion queen
she has her sense of beauty, she acts like a model, her style is peculiar but exists and so she shouldn't be in that list
I completely agree with actually everything you said. Either they didn't matter in terms of fashion, I didn't know who they were or they shouldn't have been on there, with the exception of Amy Winehouse (although the beehive is gone now but the blonde is still bad).
And his other list was just as pointless.
Blackwell missed Sharon Stone on the worst dressed list and what's cool about Jolie fashions? Nothing she wears is impressive ever. She has no style.

I agree with Blackwell's choices. For one, MK is probably one of the most boring-poorly dressed celebrities out there. And why do I call her boring? Because she is predictably unpredictable. As in, I know she is going to try to surprise with by throwing on as many things in her closest it at once. Her sister on the other hand, is a great dresser. She is sophisfacted without losing her edge. She sticks with classic pieces and gives her own age appropriate and without looking poor--twist.
Victoria Beckham is the quintessential WAG. Fake tan, fake breast, sky high heels. I think Blackwell's issue (by the way, you know Blackwell is dead right?) is that Beckham shows more skin then is necessary. Did you see her at the Roberto Cavalli opening? She might as well not worn a top with all the nipple flashes she was giving.
Lindsay Lohan shouldn't be on any list, good or bad...because she is so broke tht she should just stop shopping.
Reese Witherspoon makes no sense for being on the fabulous list. She is to me, just as boring as MK.
Also...Blackwell isn't taking into mind what these women are wearing on a daily basis. It is mostly what they are wearing to events.
Alison Arngrim played Nelly Olsen on Little House on the Prairie... I must agree that I don't believe she's relevant enough to be on a "best" or "worst" dressed list in 2007... Maybe 2008 if she does the Surreal Life or something of that nature :)
Blackwell's list is obviously ridiculous.
Although i don't particularly like some of the girls on the list, and that all of them have made maybe one lone fashion faux pas, i think most of them dressed absolutely fine.
Everyone makes fashion mistakes, and if you think about it, if they weren't famous and had a lot of money, they'd dress just like us.
Who ever made this list, should get fired. Ughh i hate these list. People who think they know everything about fashion and think they are all high and mighty. Whatever. I think Victoria Beckham always looks good I think. Always classy and put together. What a loser[person who made this list.]
