Kate Moss, the Scandaleuse Beauté
The biggest news in this slow, end-of-season time of the year is Kate Moss's comeback. And as predicted, she's back strong and prominent. This week, everyone is oohing and ahhing over the French Vogue covers, which Kate is guest-editting. (Of course, the question still remains whether she can actually speak French...) Anyways, four beeautiful French Vogue covers were produced, and I love how they're all in black & white. Initially, the four covers were supposed to be taken by four different photographers, but since Kate went to rehab for a month, only Craig McDean got a chance to shoot her. Anyways:
Kate in Chanel couture -This is my favourite cover. It makes her look like fashion royalty.
Kate in Dior Homme jacket and Superfine jeans -This is my second favourite cover. It's the cover that reflects Kate's style and personality the most. And definitely the most suitable to the title 'Scandaleuse Beauté' ('Scandalous Beauty'). 
Kate in Giorgio Armani Privé, a Dior Homme bolero, Givenchy couture boots -OK, I admit I don't really like this cover. Kate and the photo is great of course but the cover just doesn't appeal to me.

I would say I can't wait to buy this issue, but I won't since I don't know French and it would be a total waste of money to pay for only the photos. So on other Kate news, just in case you didn't already know, she will be starring in the Spring/ Summer 06 ad campaigns for Virgin Mobile, Longchamp and Roberto Cavalli. And rumour has it maybe even for Stella McCartney. It's amazing how even after the scandal, she still has more contracts than other models huh?

Lol.. so funny just posted about this too... But yes, so happy she's back, knew she could overcome all the scandal of this year... love covers!
The last one is my favorite. Kate will make a huge come back.

well, she doesn't necessarily need to speak french to be guest editor of french vogue. everybody knows english and someone can easily translate her. she looks great on the photos though. the 2nd and 4th covers are my favorites. it's funny how you're thinking of not buying the issue cause you don't know french...i'm quite good at french but i think i won't be able to buy it cause it won't be available in lisbon :/
I´ve got the same problem, it´s difficult to buy Vogue France in ZGZ (Spain), anyway I don´t think it´s necessary speak French to buy a fashion magazine, maybe you can learn some French reading about fashion, because you are a fashion expert. Try it! My favorite cover is the forth. I think is the most Moss of all whith a lot of difference.
I love the Jean Cocteau "La Belle et la Bete" inspiration for these covers! Also, the handwriting on the pictures... tres Cocteau.
The pessimist in me abhors the fact that if any of us "minions" had a love affair with coccaine we couldn't hide, we'd be out on our arse from work and who would really care? but Kate Moss comes back better and stronger so can do no wrong because she has a way about her that truly graces the cover of Vogue. The fourth cover is also my fav rivaling the first.

the magazine was not that great if you compare it with the two "previous" DEC/JAN editions which had guests-editor (Catherine Deneuve & Sofia Coppola)! they were more edits with both of them and some very private things here we just have one editorial and an article about Kate w/ some (they say) inedit but all Kate fans know those pictures for years (except 2 or 3 Mario Testino parties shoots)!!! so iwas happy to see Kate but disappointed if comparing this one w/ S. Copola & C. Deneuve issues!...anyway i have the first one you posted and it's my favourite...your top 4 is the same as mine the alst one is absolutely ugly!
Kate CAN speak French. She's even a citizen of France.
