Stud Earrings

When I first got my ears pierced back in high school, I only ever wore studs. They were simple, cheap (25hkd/ 3usd for a pair) and most importantly, super easy to wear. I would have one pair on and not have to take it off for a few months at a time. Sure, my habit with earrings wasn't particularly stylish or exciting, but I didn't know about the variety of earrings out there and I was mainly concerned about keeping the skin from growing back. Then I grew up and realised that there are so many pretty and wide range of earrings out there that I stopped buying studs. At the same time, I got even lazier (as if it was possible,) and I've been wearing earrings only about once a month, again just to keep my ears pierced. I've mainly been buying long, dangly earrings and usually only wear them for nights out.
But recently, I bought a pair of pale green, rose studs (like the image above,) and now I'm addicted! I've never really worn colourful earrings before so that was a new thing for me. Also, wearing studs just suddenly seemed so much simplier and easier compared to dangly earrings and hoops. So now I'm on a lookout for studs. I want them simple, but not boring.
The ones I want to avoid are the ones that spell out the brand name. Most of them look a bit tacky and just simply too obvious. The only ones I think are potentially cute are Chanel ones -not really sure why.
This pair of wing studs by Giles & Brothers is SO cool! I love them! The details to the metal make the earrings look stylish in that vintage-y way.
I've always wanted something that had skulls on it but I never thought they were worth it. I think this pair is ok though-it's got tiny crystals in the eyes so it would look more designed and hopefully less juvenile. Yes, I know skulls are so two seasons ago but I still like them. This pair is by Tom Binns.
Even though I usually prefer things to be symmetrical, I think these are too cute to dislike. I prefer the XO pair by Giles & Brother, but the LOVE studs by Jennifer Zener are really cute too!
I usually think style items in the shape of lips look cheap and tacky, but I think this pair is done really well and are quite adorable! Although for 242usd, they really should look classier than most! Gosh, I really need to keep an eye out for any sales and discounts now!
Sure, stud earrings aren't the epitome of the earring trend (whatever it is at the moment), but they just look too charming and easy to wear to resist!

Yeah, all I wore were studs, too. But if I don't wear them all the time, and I mean, ALL THE TIME the skin will grow back in like a week or so. I don't know if that's normal but it seems awfully quick to me.

I like hoops personally. Colorful ones, like red or orange.

don't wear earrings with nickel in it, they irritate the skin, possibly causing the skin to grow during the healing process.

anyways, I literally have a sack full of earrings but I definitely grew out of them, now I almost always wear my zirconium studs. much more flattering, and leaves room for necklaces/bangles/rings. studs with sparkling stones sure do a great job framing the face and creating a polished look!

I also am lazy and never wear earrings. Usually I buy a pair of fake diamond-looking square earrings for like $10 from Aldo because I am so irresponsible and I lose them in like a week! I really want a pair of Tiffany's earrings though (the little outlines of hearts).

The Chanel camellia (yes, it is a camellia, the house's signature flower) is actually a ring, not an earring, but it could very well make an attractive earring, as it was used to demonstrate in this post.

I agree about earrings that spell out the brand being tacky. Whereas if you look at the Chanel camellia, you see the tiniest Chanel emblem tucked away on one of the petals, barely visible on someone's hand unless you look closely. That's classy.

deep_in_vogue -Yup, that is a Chanel ring. I was trying to describe earrings that looked like that.

Mint -You totally got my points! :)

I love simple yet classy earrings for everday, you can always change them. My favourite are simple hoops, a little more dressy than plain studs and yet still appropriate for day to day.

From those; LO & VE, Dior studs and the lips. I think that the dior ones are cheesy in the same way Carrie's Carrie necklace was.

Suddenly I am in love with earrings and they are one of my weaknesses now. I love stud earrings from Bvlgari and little tiny dangle Tentation earrings from Baccarat.

now you're speaking my language! i love earrings. i have too many of them. i have studs, hoops, dangles, fake bellybutton ones, long ones, short ones, plain ones, colorful ones - you name it, i prolly have it.

the only thing i don't have though, are expensive ones :x LOL yeah i sound cheap but i don't care. my most expensive pair of earrings is prolly under 10$. so as much as i LOVE my earrings, i'll never splurge on them. the l-o-v-e ones look pretty cute though.

I got my ears pierced when i was a baby :) (tradition where i live) And I remember elementary school already been a earrings fan. I had so many studs (little apples, fruits, angels, stars, flowers, tiny pearls) and my mom continuously fed my obsession :D

Studs are great to take make an outfit more relaxed and casual. And you can wear long necklaces and not look over-accessorized. I love the silver wings.

Oooh! I have to suggest to you my absolute FAVE pair of studs, which I can't find a pic of right now but I posted about on my blog here.
They're gold studs--like, punk-style studs. Exactly what I imagine Agyness Deyn might wear on a daily basis. I love that they're kind of a play on "Studs," and are classy yet fun. They get complimented all the time! And they were $50, which isn't too bad.

I love studs so much. I got my ears pierced when I was about--5, maybe. God, I was so young. I had a pair of dolphin-shaped ones, they're so cute. I wore them for years. Too bad I lost them. I was in my swimming obsession when I was 10. When I lost those, my mom got me small cute diamond ones to replace them. Now I'm not wearing them anymore. I hope I can persuade my mom to buy a new pair...
