CFDA Awards 2006 Fashion
CFDA Awards is the fashion world’s Oscar Awards. So thankfully, most people were well-dressed.
Francisco Costa (Calvin Klein) -Womenswear Designer of the Year with Natalia Vodianova in Calvin Klein (in both pictures)
Diddy -Menswear Designer of the Year. I just don't get this. I mean I'm sure he doesn't even actually design his fashion line.
Olivier Theyskens (Rochas) –International Award winner with Anna Wintour. I have been loving Rochas the past few seasons. For those of you who haven’t checked out the Rochas FW06 show, go look it up now! For someone who’s in her 50s, Anna Wintour looks seriously amazing.
Bee Schaffer also looking stylish Narcisco Rodriguez. Random observation: her hair is so shiny!
Proenza Schouler duo: Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough with Chloe Sevigny in a Proenza Schouler FW06 dress.
Paparazzi favourites Karl Lagerfeld and Lindsay Lohan in Lagerfeld Gallery. The dress is really well-cut. Li-Lo looks fab as usual.
The pretties:
Scarlett Johansson in Calvin Klein. The dress is so modern lady-like, unfortunately not very photogenic.
Heidi Klum in Giles Mendel. Heidi looks fantastic as usual but for some odd reason, the dress reminds me of a furry animal.
Erin Wasson and Gemma Ward. I just can’t resist posting Gemma –she looks so pretty and I love the dark blue cardigan and mellow yellow dress combination. I would say I like Erin’s outfit too, except the dress underneath the leather jacket is absolutely horrendous, especially for such an event.
Carmen Marc Valvo and Lydia Hearst in the designer’s dress. Pretty black dress!
Alicia Keys (in Vera Wang), Amanda Bynes and Jamie-Lynn Sigler (in Monique Lhuilier) are my celebrity picks. This just shows white dresses don’t have to be boring and can vary a lot.
Rhiana and Jameie King both wearing Max Azria Atelier dresses. I can’t decide whether I like the sleek dress more or the pretty one.
Jessica Simpson in Michael Kors. The pretty white dress looks somewhat trashy on Jessica. Maybe if the dress was longer…

ok my pic for the night would be rhiana. she looks very sleek. and i think erin wasson and gemma ward are channeling the olsen twins or something. doesn't that pic remind you of them? and yeah jessica simpson looks way trashy with the boobs being pushed up and the mini dress and the fake tan. what was she thinking?
yes, the dress on jessica does look rather trashy. Her boobs are gonna flail out if she moves at all.
But I love Gemma's outfit!
To be honest, i hate most of the first few pictures of dresses, but starting at the lovely Gemma picture, i love all the following dresses, especially Rihanna's gorgeous blue one. Amanda Bynes' is also lovely.
i'm sorry but i don't like gemma's outfit all that much, for some other place it would be cute but for an award ceremony, i don't think so..the girl is pretty not saying that she's not but lets face it, if someone else (less popular person) had on her outfit then that person would be considered underdressed.
i love the dress that Lydia Hearst is wearing and i agree that Simpson looks like a slutt in this dress and her fake tan makes her look even worse.
I LOVE the Max Azria Atelier dresses, and the mellow yellow/blue cardigan combo...But what was Jess thinking? She's pretty enough she doesn't HAVE to dress that way!
I love Anna Wintour's gown. It's absolutely gorgeous. Lindsay Lohan's is nice, but it would look better on an older woman. I agree, Gemma looks underdressed for the CFDA, and Jessica Simpson looks awful. Were there any photos of Kate Moss, Daria Werbowy, or Gisele? Were they there? How about menswear?
jessica's outfit is the worst of the bunch, and it actually has nothing to do with the dress which is beautiful and could have been innocent, had it not been the way she is sporting it. YUCK!

lindsay looked fab! my favorite dress was Jamie-Lynn Sigler's - i liked the pattern and the cut!
heidi's was like a furry animal and a mushroom had babies... j simps looks like a total hobag, definitely. i liked rihanna's and i alos liked gemma ward's. i know its not that drssed up but its still very cute.

I disagree. I think the reason why you may feel her dress isn't formal enough is because of the cutting (esp the neckline) and the soft colour. If you look closely, you will notice there are a lot of embellishments on Gemma's dress.

I've got big boobs and I know the rule - you can't have boobs and legs out, you have to choose one or the other. It's just the curse of a large chest :(

Apart from what i can see of Natalia's dress, not much is jumping out at me as particularly impressive.. Gemma is adorable as always.. perhaps a tad underdone, but i prefer simplicity to try hard trashy a la Jessican Simpson.
