Mademoiselle Parasuco

Its Thanksgiving! Too bad they don't celebrate it over here in Paris, because even though this is a fairly new holiday for me to celebrate, I still miss the turkey. And the holiday. Anyway, today we are going to introduce you all to Mademoiselle Parasuco collection by Parasuco. Created by two Canadian designers: Salvatore Parasuco & YSO Siphay Southidara, it is simple, elegant, feminine, wearable and yet still unique and refreshing. Here are a few of the pieces:

Perfect for in and out of the office.

Different but still very wearable.

These two looks are my favourite, because they're just so cool and girly. I WANT that black shirt and culottes! They look good together and I can totally imagine them to match perfectly with things in my wardrobe.
And isn't this coat adorable?

You can find all this and the rest of the collection at their flagship store in NYC and the Westfield San Francisco Centre. Doesn't the rest of the store look so chic?

In addition to this gorgeous collection, Parasuco also makes denims. And for those who were complaining last year about the lack of worthy things to buy on Black Friday here is our Thanksgiving present to you: from Nov 24-26th they are having a 20% off regularly priced merchandise from any of their collections in both their locations.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

I used to be assistant manager of a store in Toronto that sold a lot of Parasuco clothing... and besides the jeans, the actual clothing that looked good on customers was few and far between. They have had really ugly collections... I have even met the designers at a couple of work X-mas parties and they were boring.... literally didn't look at anyone that wasn't wearing one of their designs. I don't know... just my two cents! :)

Having said that though... I have tons of pairs of Parasuco jeans, all of which still look amazing and I've had some pairs for close to 5 years! They are def good quality... I just wish their clothes were as hot!

I never picked up a pair of Parasuco jeans until earlier this year when I discovered the store in New York (60 Spring, right on the corner of Lafayette - GORGEOUS store!). It was pouring rain, so I wandered in, and ended up trying on at least 10 pairs. A few of them didn't work at all (really short rises or dramatic washes that emphasized my thighs or hit my knees badly) but I kept on going, and I'm glad I did.

I'm short and curvy, so I'd avoided the 'skinny' jean look for a while, but that all changed when I tried on a great pair (with ankle zips!) at Parasuco. My butt looks great, and the style takes 10 lbs off me! I bought the same style in black a few weeks ago, and I wear them tucked into flat forest green boots. Probably my favorite casual outfit this season!

I checked out the Mademoiselle line, loved loved LOVED the silk dresses and ruffled tops, but kinda blenched at the prices. However, with the 20% off sale this weekend, I may have to hop in and grab something cute for my office xmas bash!

Wait, Parasuco does DRESSES? Since when? I've got a few pairs of the jeans that I got when shopping in Montreal this summer...I noticed a lot of stylish girls wearing the brand and I got curious and bought a pair... but I didn't know they did dressy stuff...the gray top with the flare over the hips is my top pick from the photos you posted.

Parasuco started out as a casualwear/denim brand in Canada but recently branched out into a dressier, higher end line with their mademoiselle line. I believe I read that in an old issue of Elle Canada or LouLou magazine (for those Canadians out there). I agree with how others have said that their denim is decent, but the clothese were just tacky (Parasuco actually reminds me of Guess) However, their mademoiselle line looks promising and I was shocked at some of the elegant pieces since I usually don't like Parasuco. However, I find it surprising that their flagship store is in NYC, even though they originated in Montreal? I'm not sure. I guess NYC IS the place to start off if they want to build up this line.

Hi, I've been visting your blog for a while now and I was just wondering if you knew any websites that sells affordable classy vintage dresses? I am looking for something to wear for prom, though it is months away I want to avoid the stress. Great posts, btw.

The coat is too die for! With so much TIGHT happening with bottoms these days, I say play with proportions on top.

omg parasuco is usually considered EXTREMELY tacky here in montreal. however, that collection looks beautiful. i almost couldn't believe parasuco's selling such elegant clothes. Their last collections were always extremely trashy. I'm assuming they got a new design team. I highly doubt the two people you mentioned actually designed those clothes... they're probably not that creative and for sure hired a team.

I went to the store in NYC this weekend, the staff was giving out hot apple cider on the street in front of the store which I thought was a nice touch. The Mademoiselle Parasuco collection was available, and certainly lovely, but far too expensive for me, even with the 20% sale. I did buy jeans, and almost bought a slinky little top (the salesperson informed me that there were real freshwater pearls on the back!) but need to spend a more on gifts than on me. Maybe they'll have boxing day specials!

for those who found that the last collection is elegant and nice and have doubt about the creativity of the people mentionned as mr parascuso and Yso, i can assure you, cause i know him, that all the great and nice stuff you see is from the hand of Yso. and mr parasuco just say no here and yes there. go have i look under the name of yso siphay southidara and you will see beautiful and amazing creative cloth. always feminine.

I've been looking all over for a shop in Los Angeles that carries Parasuco jeans. If anyone knows of one, please let me know. Also, what is the name of the store in New York?
Thanks: sablelou@aol.com

I used to wear Parasuco jeans when they were in four years ago. The jeans actually fit great and I had so many pair of them. For some reason they happened to go out of style. But now that everything that went out is back in (skinny jeans, etc..) I think they should bring them back out. Just make the pockets plain with just a 'P' on them or something. I can guarantee they will sell. I'm from Maryland
and if you ever consider it email me @ misswrightc@aol.com thanks

Back in high school the 'ghetto' girls used to wear really tight/skinny parasuco jeans...it's quite odd to read about them as 'high fashion'.

Ditto on the latter and former of this previous statement! I just remember back in HS wondering where in the hell those girls purchased those jeans. Not that I thought they were ugly or anything. I'd wear a pair if they were available in my area (DC Metro area)
