Mary Janes
Ever since I did that post on cute Vivienne Tam dresses a few months ago, I've been wanting a pair of Mary Jane's! They just look SO perfect with all the pretty short dresses floating around lately. Maybe this makes me a bit late on catching up with the Mary Jane wagon since Miu Miu already had that phase last season on their runway, but better late then never right?
So the pair that I've been seriously considering and almost bought is this pair from Marc by Marc Jacobs, probably in Black/Black, but Black/White does seem more interesting.....But Anyway, the point is, that I like the perfectly rounded toe and the platform and how the overall chunkiness works. The only problem I've encountered with this is that the chunkiness of the heels just a little bit off..... so despite the tempting discounts there are online for these pair (down by $100 I think), I have decided to wait until I can try it in person first.
And if those don't work out, I may go and try these from Aldo (left) and Linea Paolo (right). They have a different feel since they're not as chunky and I'm not sure about the peep toe in winter, but I DO like the platform and the heels. Plus I do so love the huge button on the Aldo pair, its the perfect detail to make it funky!
More Mary Jane's with buttons from Max Studio (left) and Dolce Vita (right) although these don't have the platform (platform Mary Janes are SO hard to find!). Though again I think the heels of the Dolce Vita is a bit off, too square with the rest of the design.
Funkier Mary Janes from Tapeet (left) and Marc by Marc Jacobs (right). I'm not sure I like the wide ankle strap but I really like the overall shape of the Tapeet pair.
Girlier and sleeker Mary Janes from Barneys Co-op (left) and Aldo (right). They look nice, but personally I think they're too sleek to go with the dresses this season.
Wow there really aren't that many places with Mary Janes around this season! Anymore suggestions on places to look? I feel like I've been onto all the sites these last few days looking for the perfect pair of Mary Janes and the only one that comes close is the Marc by Marc Jacobs platform ones.

no diss on the shoes cuz they're great but that dress in the first picture is bangin.
I bought a pair of black suede mary janes from french connection that have an amazing platform front. It's not on their website, but maybe you can find it on other websites? They are so comfortable and high! I love the look, thanks for the post~
oh emm gee!
too beautiful to be true<3

Nine West has a sweet pair of Mary Janes you could check out. I've been looking for a pair of MJ's forever but it's always past my wallet limit.
As gorgeous as MJ's can get they are not a good idea for shorter
people. They cut off your leg from your foot thus making your leg
appear shorter! :(
The MJ's are so comfortable (I've got the medium high ones in black/greyish white : they exist in flats, medium (3 inches) and high) and classy. I love them!
I've been obsessing over mary janes too!
...haven't found my perfect pair yet either :(
This reminds me, I need a new pair of mary janes! Such cute ones posted, too. :)
how about those miu miu mary janes with the double strap from last season? those are wonderful, but perhaps the killer heel is too impractical
Nine West has something similar to the Viviene Tam ones here

and its on sale too, I'm considering it!
I tried on the gold aldo ones with the button because I thought they looked cute and just a bit different, but trying them on they just didn't look right. think the strap was a bit off and the button just felt a bit cheap. love the first pair with the coloured toe though! xxxx
I too have been lusting over those two-tone Marc by Marc Jacobs all season now!
Have you tried endless, zappos or piperlime? Those are my go to places for online shoes plus I think they all have free overnight shipping and returns. http://www.shopstyle.com is also a great place to view online shoes collected from a ton of retailers on one site.
Maybe that's too much information... Sorry, I just really like to shop. :)
Antonio Melani (usually sold at Dillards store) had the best pair of Mary Janes last season I bought! This season they have some with a buckle, but no platforms!
The Marc Jacob's platform ones are my favorite as well.
I would look online.
Nordstroms almost always has Mary Janes!

i like the black/white marc jacobs mjs on the second pick, i actually like the heel. i had bought a pair of wooden heeled platform shoes(for summer) a few years ago, and the heel proved to be sturdy and comfortable and also somewhat stayed fashionable..
as for mj's, steve madden always has good knock-offs. last year i bought my platform mj pair from topshop though, very dark red, patent. still love 'em..
i love these in raisin..

jcrew is definitely worth checking out :)
the placement of the strap is critical for mary janes. i'm petite and find that if the strap is closer to the toes, it elongates my legs~
The Tapeet pair is to die for!!
I just love your collection.
