Kirsten Dunst For Miu Miu SS08 Ads

For people who love to shop, January is a bit of a dry month. But for fashion-lovers, January is pretty exciting as it is when a lot of the SS campaigns are released. One of the campaigns I've been most anticipating is the Miu Miu campagin because a) Kirsten Dunst is Miu Miu's model of the season, and b) I usually love Miu Miu's campaign images. I have to admit I didn't really like Lindsay Lohan's FW07 campaign. Maybe I just didn't think Lindsay suited Miu Miu, or maybe the images just seemed too grown-up for Miu Miu.
The colour scheme of the SS08 campaign seems pretty similar to the FW07 one. But what I like about this campaign is that it really conveys the feeling of the clothing collection - the clothes and bags are very obviously featured, but it still manages to be artistic and dramatic. Also, I think Kirsten did really well. She manages to look coy, theatrical and ladylike while still looking playful. (You have to stare at it for awhile before really feeling the images. Go to the Miu Miu website for larger pictures.)
Now I don't actually love all the images, but I like the campaign as a whole. Plus I may be biased as Kirsten is my favourite actress. And while it would be nice to see Miu Miu use a model to model the campaign, it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon.
I want to say this looks like a good 'look' for work (minus the red bow on the head,) but the skirt is way too short. If only I could go to work looking this chic though! Even the bag looks big and practical for work!
Hmm, I couldn't decide whether I like this image (top)...
or this image (top) more. But these two are definitely my favourite out of the lot. The clothes are SO cute, girly and quirky. I just don't know where one would wear them. Oh well, it's not like I could afford these clothes.
Do you like Kirsten's Miu Miu ads?

I'm not a big fan of this ad campaign. the colors are too much (if not the same as) the FW campaign. And not to mention I don't like Kirsten Dunst at all (sorry!). But I do love the clothes and that handbag is to die for!

I'm in agreement with Darling.

Kirsten's just not model material.

I absolutely agree with Hannah. I just don't care for the schoolgirlish hair bow. I think it's too kinky to be in good taste.

This shoot is so cute, in a creepy-midnight-circus kind of way. I disagree with mamaluv; the bow can very look sophisticated, and Kirsten Dunst and Blair from Gossip Girl pull off. The look of Miu Miu SSO8 is not typically Kirsten (who I think of as American pie) but she manages to make it edgy, and I have to give her props for that!

Very nice ad!!!
I could see Kirsten Dunst being more stylish and edgy in a KMT Inspired ad. But that's just me...

i actually pretty much love this shoot. of course, its a bit on the creepy, out-there side, but it's exremely unordinary which is what new ad campaigns should always aim to be.

It's alright, but I would really wish that designers would leave celebrities out of ad campaigns. That and also magazine covers.

True headbands do not suit every face structure, but def agree that BLAIR from Gossip Girl def pull off the trend perfectly each time, red, white different styles of headbands.....its great inspiration!~

i agree with lyralie.. a very "dark" circus look with a twist of girlish innocence..

needless to say I LOVE IT, and i think kirsten really pulled it off. in fact, i think kirsten did as great a job as any "real" model would have. she's great at posing, you should have seen her in lula, she's excellent.

i like some of the photos individually, especially the one with kirsten's feet on the barre and the bottom two that HG liked. the collection of photos is c'est manifique! way better than lindsay's i must say.

I like them...but they dont blow me away. I think she is a better actres than model, and she should stick to that. I do like the drama of the images though.

I think it's a great campaign. Miu Miu is about being youthful, edgy and quirky which these photos perfectly convey. Yes, it's a little off-kilter but Miu Miu is no Juicy Couture. Kirsten did a fabulous job!

First, I have to disagree with January not being very exciting for shopping...its when everything I love goes on super sale!

Second, Kirsten is definitely not a favorite of mine but I thought she did a pretty good job for Miu Miu. Although really, I wish the design houses would leave modeling to the actual models.

I love the sunglasses in the second picture, and I think my favourite image is the second last one. However, I think the colours are too similar to last season and really dark for SS.
